Liverpool’s LMA dancers secure Britain’s Got Talent golden buzzer and head straight to the final
53 minutes ago
Liverpool talent was front and centre on Saturday night as dancers from Liverpool Media Academy (LMA) lit up Britain’s Got Talent and landed a golden buzzer moment that’s sent them straight through to the final.
The 66-strong group, performing as Sadeck Berrabah & LMA, delivered a jaw-dropping, perfectly synchronised routine that had the judges on their feet and it was Alesha Dixon who sealed the deal.

After previously saying she would’ve hit the golden buzzer for them at auditions, Alesha didn’t hesitate this time, calling the Liverpool group a “breath of fresh air” before smashing the buzzer and sending them straight through.

Fellow judge Simon Cowell was just as blown away, describing the performance as “gobsmackingly beautiful” and one of the best acts seen on the live shows so far.
The result means the Liverpool dancers skip the public vote and go straight to the grand final, where they’ll be in with a chance of performing at the Royal Variety Performance and taking home the show’s top prize.

Kemal Kuguloglu, Head of Department (Dance) at LMA said:
“The students are thrilled to be part of the finals of Britain’s Got Talent, and I share their excitement. They have worked tirelessly for weeks to perfect a highly challenging piece of choreography, alongside the added pressure of incorporating props and performing tightly synchronised movements, where any mistake affects the whole group.”
“The group includes 2nd and 3rd year undergraduate students, as well as postgraduate Master’s students. All have continued to attend their regular classes while preparing for end-of-year performances, alongside the additional rehearsals required to develop an original piece with a renowned choreographer.”
“The level of professionalism, dedication, and commitment instilled in them throughout their studies at LMA was truly evident when they received the final buzzer. I am incredibly proud of them all.”

It was a huge moment not just for the group, but for the city too, with LMA once again proving why Liverpool continues to produce some of the UK’s most exciting creative talent.
The remaining acts will now battle it out for the public vote as the semi-finals continue, but for Liverpool, it’s already been a night to remember.
