In a world where viral videos and social media influencers dominate our travel aspirations, uncovering authentic, off-the-beaten-path experiences can feel like a daunting task… especially trying to plan a trip around a single video.
However, a recent study conducted by Bókun, a leading Tour Operator Software Provider and part of the Tripadvisor family, has shed light on the true hidden gems around the globe, as recommended by real tourists.
In Liverpool, we’re known for our iconic landmarks, so it’s no surprise we made four entries on the global list of must-visit destinations. Topping the charts was the Victoria Gallery and Museum, a stunning testament to the city’s artistic and historical legacy.
Located within the University of Liverpool, housed within a striking red-brick building that dates back to 1892, the Victoria Gallery and Museum offers a journey through time, showcasing an eclectic mix of art, artefacts, and archival materials.
But the Victoria Gallery and Museum is not the only gem waiting to be discovered in Liverpool.
Other notable mentions include National Museums Liverpool’s Sudley House, an exquisite Victorian mansion surrounded by picturesque gardens; Williamson Tunnels, a labyrinthine network of underground passages that offer a glimpse into the city’s industrial past; and the Western Approaches HQ Museum, where visitors can delve into the history of the Battle of the Atlantic.
