Lu Ban launches authentic Chinese Tianjin-inspired menu for Christmas

Lu Ban based in Cains Brewery Village, has launched a Christmas menu with a difference.

Staying true to the Tianjin roots that have inspired the brand the festive menu is bursting with flavour and Christmas cheer. Subtle hints of plum sauce, five spice, star anise and orange have been delicately worked into the menu to tantalise the festive tastebuds with lots of traditional Christmas treats making an appearance on the menu with a Lu Ban twist.

The popular eatery situated in Cains Brewery Village is delighted to offer a delicious alternative to the traditional festive fayre. The three course festive menu including a starter, main and sweet course is ÂŁ49.50 per person with an additional optional course of the popular  Roast Duck and Pancakes, or Faux Duck and Pancake dishes (T’s and C’s apply).

Lu Ban

Starters include the popular Yin and Yang Hot and Sour Soup, Smoked Salmon with winter radish, pomegranate and mandarin,  Jasmine Smoked Ulverston Pork Ribs with a sweet garlic, ginger and sesame glaze, as well as Kung Po Cauliflower.

Traditional Turkey is replaced with a Smoked Duck Breast, packed full of flavour including tamarind, star anise and plum sauce.  Fish lovers can enjoy the Trout Toban Jiang, a sumptuous pan roasted fillet, wok fried greens, toban jiang and green onion oil.   Alternatively mains include Pork and Apple and a Smoked Tofu Buddah Delight.

The team have also produced a sensational trio of deserts for diners to choose from including the tasty theatrical Chocolate Sphere, the mouth-watering You Tiao Doughnuts or a Poached Tianjin Pear.

“We have created a menu of Tianjin inspired dishes with a hint of traditional festive flavours.   Our well thought out menu showcases everything our guests love about our menu, but with some hints of traditional Christmas flavours including plum, orange and the flavours of mulled wine.  We look forward to welcoming diners who want to celebrate Christmas and enjoy sensational food in fantastic surroundings”.

Diners can also enjoy their party or celebration in on of the Lu Ban private dining rooms – The Tianjin room, for parties of up to 12 guests, The Wine Room which comfortably seats up to 14 guests, or the interactive party room The Food Lab.  All offering something unique for any festive gathering and celebration.
