Man arrested on suspicion of murder of Olivia Pratt-Korbel

Merseyside police have arrested a 36 year-old man on suspicion of the murder of nine year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel.

The man, who is from the Huyton area, was also arrested on two counts of attempted murder.

The arrest came after an operation involving armed officers in the Merseyside area last night, Thursday 25^th August.

The man is currently in custody where he is being questioned by detectives.

Olivia was killed on Monday evening when a gunman chased another man into her home in Liverpool and opened fire “with complete disregard” for anyone else in the property.

Detective Chief Superintendent Mark Kameen spoke at a police briefing yesterday and said police were pursuing a number of “positive lines of enquiry” and warned the killer: “We will not rest until we find you and we will find you.”

Speaking at a media briefing at Merseyside Police HQ, he said: “We have had a number of names provided to us.”

He told reporters it was unclear if the gunman may have fled overseas, but said: “We will find him wherever he goes.”
