Marco Pierre White’s Restaurant in Liverpool to launch Mother’s Day menu
10 months ago
A lingering memory of his beloved mother that inspired, lifted, drove him on and pushed him forward to become the UKâs greatest ever chef, is why Marco Pierre White is underlying to families from across Liverpool to make sure their own mothers are made to feel special on 10 March.Â
With happy recollections of holidays in Genoa with his mother, Maria Rosa Gallina, where he picked fruit from the trees, fished in streams and made early morning walks to collect goatâs milk from a nearby farm, memories of sitting in the kitchen at home, watching her cook simple but delicious pasta dishes (throwing in olive oil, sweating down onions, adding tomato puree and creating comforting scent of those combinations), Pierre White knows all too well the need to make the most of having someone special in your life that you can love, appreciate and have around as a guiding light.Â
But having lost his mother when he was just six, the famed chef wants families to make sure their own mothers know how much they mean.
Understanding that not everyone will be able to replicate dishes that made him a household name during his culinary heyday, the famed restaurateur has devised a number of new menus at his Steakhouse Bar & Grill on Chapel Street which he hopes will delight and surprise in equal measure on Mothering Sunday.
This includes a brand-new Ă la carte menu, a revised Sunday roast menu and a delicious afternoon tea menu which provides an alternative to a traditional Sunday lunch.
Kieran Poole, general manager said:
âMarco has devised a range of new menus that are the perfect accompaniment to a relaxing family meal out.Â
âMarco said in his book âThe Devil in the Kitchenâ that it wasnât until he was 31-years-old before he could analyse the tremendous impact of his motherâs life, and death, upon his own.Â
âTreating your mum to a nice Sunday lunch or afternoon tea in a relaxed environment is a lovely way to show how much you care and is a great way to get the whole family together allowing everyone to sit back, relax and enjoy the day.
âWeâre in the business of feeding people in a great environment where the service is of the highest standard. Thatâs why weâll be pulling out all the stops so that from the moment guests arrive they are made to feel special, especially the mums.âÂ
