Halloween
MD Creatives conjures up a virtual Halloween treat this weekend
4 years ago
Halloween may feel a little different this year due to Covid-19 restrictions, but St Helens vocational academy, MD Creatives, is making sure the scariest night of the year doesnât go unnoticed.
Usually the busiest time in MDâs annual calendar, the academy has created an exclusive new film called, Halloween on Barrow Street, which viewers can watch online this weekend (October 30 and 31, 7pm) in the âuncomfortâ of their own homes… if they dare!
Telling the ghoulish goings-on of MDâs new headquarters in St Helens, Halloween on Barrow Street will showcase the talents and passions of the Creatives, who have spent the last few weeks creating a spine-tingling production of music, dance and storytelling – while adhering to social distancing guidelines!
Miguel Doforo, creative director and founder of MD Creatives, said:
âWe have become renowned for our Halloween productions over the years, but of course, the pandemic and the latest restrictions in the city region have made it impossible for us to do the kind of things we normally do. But we were not going to let that stop us and have adapted by taking our celebrations online this year.
âEvery single one of the Creatives have thrown themselves into this production, from the music to the videography, to create something really special. We have even unearthed some hidden talents during the process, which is fantastic. I am incredibly proud of what they have all achieved in such a difficult circumstance.
âWe might not be able to venture out this Halloween, but hopefully our virtual spooky production will fill a gap!â
Sponsored by St Helens independent, ODâs Designer Clothing, Halloween on Barrow Street will be screened on both MD Creatives and St Helens Councilâs websites and social media channels.Â
MD Creatives offers an inclusive, communal and social space, where young people and adults from all backgrounds are welcome, a place where they can grow and prosper through creativity, support and teamwork.
MD Creatives was established in 2018 by Miguel Doforo, who with his earlier project, MD Productions, was a three-time semi-finalists on Britain’s Got Talent, and who has performed for The Royal Family.
