It’s not just the thoroughbreds entertaining the crowds at Aintree Racecourse.
Pete has picked his winner for next years Grand National as rescue pony Hercules has the crowds in awe of his size and remarkable story. Alongside his handler, Hercules, from World Horse Welfare at Penny Farm in Blackpool, was hoping to make it into the starting 38 for the Grand National Steeplechase today, but unfortunately for him, it was Tiger Roll that took the spoils. There’s always next year! Merseyside Police horse Boris also took a starring role with Pete today before leading the Grand National runners onto the course.
