Rediscover Merseyside and hire a bike in minutes from Bike & Go!

It’s now even easier to use pedal power to get around with affordable bike hire from more than 20 stations across the Merseyrail network!

It’s now easier than ever to get around the Merseyside region, without having to take the car. National scheme, Bike & Go offers bikes for hire at 22 stations across the Merseyrail network and for just £3.80 per day, you can get to work, plan a day out and explore the region at your leisure.

Bike & Go offers Merseyrail passengers the opportunity to complete their rail journey with ease as registration can be done on the go by phone. Register online, receive an email code and you could be on your bike within minutes.

As Autumn comes around Merseyside really comes into it’s own. With so many beautiful parks, stunning coastline and seasonal events taking place, there’s never been a better time to get out into the crisp Autumn air and explore the region. Haven’t got a bike? No problem at all, simply search for you nearest Bike & Go station and set off on your next adventure.

Here’s 7 things you need to know about Bike & Go…….

1 – There are 22 Bike & Go stations across the Merseyrail network, you can find your nearest, and check out how many bikes are available in advance here.

2 – Rentals are just £3.80 per day and you can keep the bike for 24 hours for that price.

3 –  You can subscribe and hire a bike straight away as Bike & Go immediately email you a code which can be shown to the ticket office. Your membership card will then arrive in the post.

4 – The scheme is cashless so the membership card is attached to your bank account and when it’s swiped the payment is charged.

5 – Bikes can be returned to any participating station.

6 – You can hire out 2 bikes with one membership card so it’s easy to take a friend without them having to subscribe as well.

7 – Bikes come with an integrated lock so they can be left securely while you go to work or out with friends.

It’s that simple! All that’s left to do is work out where to go. We’ve lined up our top 3 Merseyside cycle routes that are perfect for an Autumn Bike & Go day out.

1 – The Liverpool Waterfront

Pier Head

Why not hire a bike from St Michael’s Station, Aigburth and cycle from Otterspool, past Brunswick Dock and Liverpool Marina to the bustling Baltic Triangle before returning your bike to Liverpool Central or even back to St Michael’s if you’re feeling energetic!

2 – The Wirral Way

Catch the train to Hooton and Bike & Go along the Wirral Way to West Kirby. Offering up superb views of the Dee Estuary and North Wales, this old railway line if perfect for cycling and taking in the Autumn sights of the Wirral Country Park. Ice-cream at Parkgate anyone?

3 – Ainsdale to Formby

Hire your Bike & Go from Ainsdale Station and cycle through the pine forests to Formby to check out the rolling sand dunes and dramatic coastline. You can return your bike at Formby station and wander into town for a well earned coffee and slice of cake!

Don’t forget Bike & Go is perfect for the daily commute too. There are bikes available to hire from both Liverpool Central and Moorfields enabling you to complete your journey to work and meetings.
