We spoke to Scouse Ma about the return of her BIG night out and the very special guest who will be there
2 years ago
Scouse Ma is coming back with her second Big Night Out and this time, alongside all the usual entertainment and mayhem, she’s got a very special boyband guest.
Simon Webbe from Blue will be joining in the party when Scouse Ma’s Big Night Out takes over Ten Streets Social on Saturday July 2.
There’ll also be DJs, live music, games, naked butlers and plenty of audience participation, from 7pm to 1am, all adding up to a massive hen party vibe.
Scouse Ma, aka Elle, says the first Big Night Out on Mother’s Day was such a success, she’s not just bringing it back for another one, she’s planning to make them a regular monthly event.
“The Mother’s Day one was the first and I wasn’t really sure what to expect, meeting people for the first time as myself, but everyone was so nice and the response was really positive.
“I had such a good night, my family and friends were there, everyone enjoyed the entertainment and I got to chat to loads of people.
“We had a really wide age range too, from 18 up to 60s and 70s, and they all loved it.
“That’s why we’ve decided we’re doing another one and this time it’s going to be on a Saturday so people have got time to recover the next day before they have to go back to work!”
Elle says she’s thrilled – and a bit surprised – to have Blue singer Simon headlining for the event.
“He’s going to be our special guest and I’m just absolutely made up he’s agreed to do it,” she says. “But it’s not just about having a big name, even though that will be amazing, because the rest of the entertainment is so good in its own right.
“I want us to have regular performers and DJs who are there for every event so people will be able to say, ‘I’m going to Scouse Ma’s Big Night Out’ and everyone knows what it is and what to expect.”
For the second Big Night, Elle has invited back DJs Vicki Scott and Kaci Lynch as well as singer and guitarist Jack Bennett.
“He absolutely got the place going last time so he’s on again and hopefully he’ll be a resident for us.
“We’re starting to find our feet and our format which is great.”
The night, which is put on with C&L Promotions, has moved from Invisible Wind Factory to neighbouring Ten Streets Social and Elle is planning to make that its regular venue from now on.
“I went to have a look at it and as soon as I walked in I got a really nice feeling from the place and the people who run it are great, they’re really interested in what we’re doing, so we’re going to be working closely with them.
“We’re looking at doing smaller events there on the last Saturday of every month so hopefully Ten Streets Social will be the new home of Scouse Ma’s Big Night Out.”
To keep the girls’ night out party feel, there’ll be plenty of games again, including Lyrical Bingo, and some fabulous prizes up for grabs thanks to sponsors – Say It With Diamonds is giving away a necklace worth over £300, the Dental Café will be offering prizes too and so will Tatti Lashes.
“The atmosphere was so good last time and I know a lot of people who came to the first one are coming again, and more who couldn’t make it then, so I think it’s going to be a great night and I’ll be a lot less nervous about this one,” says Elle.
“This is the first summer one which will kick off the monthly nights, on a bit of a smaller scale and at a cheaper price, so we can build it up as a regular night instead of people having to wait every six months for one.
“We’ll still do the bigger ones, but we want Scouse Ma’s Big Night Out to be something which people look forward to every month without having to break the bank.”
