Splash Art invites families to dive into messy creativity this Half Term

It’s every parents’ worst nightmare – in an act of expression, your little darling has unleashed their inner artist all over your magnolia walls! Just imagine if there was a place where your children were free to splash, squirt, splatter and shoot paint at will and you didn’t have to clean up afterwards…

Now there is thanks to England’s first interactive art studio in Liverpool. Splash Art is inviting parents and grandparents to bring their children aged 3 to 12 along during half term.

The hour long-session includes a dart art game and a spin art experience and there is an opportunity to blast each other in the dark with neon paint-filled guns. Everybody also leaves with two canvases each.

Splash Art is an interactive art studio, giving visitors permission to leave the day-to-day behind, and the freedom to express themselves. Guests are encouraged to create, to get messy, to release their frustrations and to celebrate their joy.

Splash Art founder Jasmin Unger said:

“We all know a parent whose child has scribbled on something they shouldn’t. You probably even did it yourself when you were young. Impulsive behaviour is natural for young children. When children get random thoughts or imagination, they like to put it down on large empty surfaces. We’ve taken that concept and put it in a safe space where children and parents alike can let their imaginations run wild.

“Painting is one of the best activities parents can do with children. Not only is it a great way to encourage creativity and experimentation but it is a great bonding experience that creates lasting memories. And as everybody goes home with their very own artwork, you’ve also got a ready-made gift for upcoming Mother’s Day or Father’s Day.”

A recent survey of 1,000 parents found their kids’ favourite playtime activities include messy play but nearly two-thirds of parents avoid activities like painting because they prefer to keep their little ones clean and tidy.

The survey found parents tend to prefer reading books or playing with building blocks – with less than a third of parents taking part in creative activities at home once every two weeks.

Jasmin added:

“Many parents avoid messy play due to the clean-up afterwards. The beauty of Splash Art is your child is free to make as much mess as they want without you worrying about the aftermath.”

Experiences cost £30 for children and £42.50 for adults or you can get a family ticket for £130 for two adults and two children plus £20 per extra child.
