Students and staff at Hugh Baird College’s Sixth Form Centre are celebrating yet another set of impressive A-level results.
For the first time since the Coronovirus pandemic, students were able to sit their A-level and BTEC examinations this summer and today find out their long-awaited results.
Students based at the College’s Sixth Form Centre in Litherland are now celebrating having completed their time at the College and are looking forward to their next steps, be that university, apprenticeship or employment.
Joe Poole, Assistant Principal at Hugh Baird College, said:
“We are incredibly proud of this group of students. They’ve had a tough couple of years, but they have stuck at it and have been rewarded today. Young people often hear that they are not resilient, but this definitely isn’t the case with this group of students.”
“After all their hard work, effort and determination, it’s great to see so many happy and smiling faces today. Many of our students have achieved outstanding results and they are moving on to an exciting next chapter of their life. Whatever their destination, we are confident that they have the knowledge, skills and behaviours to be successful in whatever they do. From everybody at Hugh Baird College, we wish our students the very best of luck for the future”.
Due to the excellent results achieved, many students will now be progressing onto study higher education at some of the most prestigious universities including University of Liverpool and Lancaster University. Alternatively, some students are progressing onto degree level apprenticeships or full-time employment.
Emily Watts, A-level Mathematics, Biology, and Computer Science student, said:
