The Christmas Movies that will light up screens in Liverpool this year

The most magical time of the year is only a sleigh-ride away, and so are these Christmas movies in Liverpool.

As the countdown to Christmas begins in Liverpool, we’re cosying up with movie classics, and unwrapping an unforgettable Christmas time in front of the Big Screen. Here’s the Christmas movies you can watch right here in our city.

Christmas Floating Cinema - Albert Dock (30 Nov -8 Dec)

‘Tis the season to be jolly, and there’ll be nowhere jollier, than the Albert Dock, this Christmas. Join festive, family fun with weekend matinees for children, including ELF, The Grinch, and Polar Express. Meanwhile, big kids can make a date with a host of cute evening screenings, including The Holiday, Muppets Christmas Carol, and Die Hard, among a host of seasonal treats to put the shine back on your baubles.

Love Actually in Concert - Philharmonic Hall (25 Nov)

Now that’s a movie title in itself. When it comes to old-fashioned festive classics, where better than The Phil? Mark the start of the season, take your seats and snuggle up, for Love Actually in Concert. A unique, live orchestra showing guaranteed to leave you feeling festive. For fans of older classics, It’s a Wonderful Life, arrives Christmas Eve.

There’s a blizzard of non-stop seasonal stocking fillers at Woolton Picture house. A whole host of Christmas time favourites, including Gremlins, Arthur Christmas, Santa Clause the Movie, Jack Frost, A Christmas Carol, Miracle on 34th Street, and many more merry movies, will make all your Christmas wishes come true.

 

The Snowman - Liverpool Cathedral (29 Dec)

We’re filling up already. While other snowmen sadly melt away, there’s only one who returns to melt hearts every Christmas. The magnificent Liverpool Cathedral provides the perfect setting for illustrated children’s classic, The Snowman, accompanied by a live orchestra, including, of course, ‘Walking in the Air’.

This magical screening also includes an animated film of award-winning book, The Bear and The Piano, narrated by Joanna Lumley.

CBeebies Christmas Show - FACT Picturehouse (30 Nov)

CBeebies star in their very own Christmas show: Hansel & Gretel, inviting all their festive fans to sing-and-laugh-along with an interactive family show, that’s sure to be a real chestnut.

And the gift of great Christmas movies continues, with a Home Alone 1 & 2 double-bill, Miracle on 34th Street, and a White Christmas sing-a-long on Dec 18.
