The Hairy Bikers are on the road and heading to Liverpool Food & Drink Festival

Hairy Bikers, Si King and Dave Myers, are set to cause a stir when they roar into Merseyside for Liverpool Food and Drink Festival’s 10 year anniversary celebrations.

The festival, which brings together the city’s best bars, restaurants, cafes and producers for a giant feast in Sefton Park, will take place from 16th – 17th September.

The Hairy Bikers, who are best known for travelling the world on their motorbikes, tasting the local cuisine and preparing it themselves, will be showing visitors how to create some of their favourite dishes during cookery demonstrations.

The bearded duo, who will be appearing on Sunday 17th September, will also be answering questions from the public and signing copies of their latest book, The Hairy Dieters Go Veggie.

Dave Myers said: “We’ve heard great things about Liverpool Food and Drink Festival. It’s a fantastic idea to bring the city’s best bars, restaurants and producers together for a giant feast and we can’t wait to get stuck in.”

Si King added: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have been invited along to celebrate 10 years of Liverpool Food and Drink Festival. The city has a cracking food and drink scene and we’re really looking forward to being a part of it.”

Isabella Kantor, Festival Manager at Liverpool Food and Drink Festival, said: “The Hairy Bikers have a huge following and it’s easy to see why as they’re such an entertaining duo to watch. I’m sure Si and Dave will be a big hit with people across Merseyside.”

The Hairy Bikers are the latest names to join the line up of TV chefs taking part in this year’s event, which also includes Simon Rimmer, Nisha Katona, Paul Askew, Gary Usher and Aiden Byrne.

Celebrity chef, Gizzi Erskine, will be cooking up an Asian style banquet at a special preview event – Beauty and the Feast – which features a live acoustic set by Liverpool band Lightning Seeds. The special 10 year anniversary event, limited to just 200 guests, will take place in a boho-themed marquee in Sefton Park on 15th September.

Visitors to this year’s Liverpool Food and Drink Festival will have the chance to pick up tips from a whole host of TV chefs, as well as local food and drink experts, during live demonstrations and masterclasses. There will also be a rare opportunity for foodies to enjoy dishes prepared by TV chefs.
