Fancy learning more than just Hola for your next holiday?
Former British Airways Stewardess, SENCO teacher and interpreter, Sandra Scott is so passionate about languages that she’s dedicated her business to teaching others how to speak confidently when abroad.
Sandra’s company Chataway offers 6 week language courses for those looking to boost their confidence while on holiday, working abroad or considering emigrating. From absolute beginners through to negotiating contracts, Sandra works with a team of language experts to delivery one to one, group, corporate and school language sessions to suit all ages.
Chataway sessions are split into three levels of ability, with the beginners course which focuses on basics such as saying your name, numbers, directions, ordering food and tickets, being the most popular.
If you’re going on holiday, looking to buy property abroad or thinking of moving to sunnier climes, being able to speak confidently in the native language could be a huge confidence boost.
Sandra was the first mature student to graduate Liverpool University in three different languages and has built on that success to teach others. Focused on ensuring learners have fun, learn at a sustainable pace and put their new found skills to good use, Sandra developed a unique teaching method that is receiving rave reviews.
Sandra explained: ” I love seeing how happy people are when they are speaking the language effectively with a good accent especially if they hated langauges at school or felt they weren’t particularly good at them.
“I really feel that Liverpool City Region needs to maintain the current success we are seeing with the visitor economy and enhance the experience for international visitors by ensuring that hospitality staff can communicate the basics such as giving directions to tourist attractions.
“The thing I love the most about my job is that I have made a highly academic subject simple and made the process of learning the basics, a really fun and sociable activity. I am so fortunate that I get to meet lovely people whilst doing something I really enjoy and am passionate about.
