Upstairs At The Grill launches a new lunch menu
6 months ago
Upstairs At The Grill brought the true essence of a New York steakhouse to the northwest way back in 2002, when the much loved restaurant first opened its doors here in Chester.
Since then, it has built a reputation for being one of the best steakhouses this side of the Atlantic, with a jaw-dropping selection of prime beef, including a choice of corn-fed USDA beef, grass-fed UK varieties, and specialist cuts sourced from eight miles away in North Wales, to 8000 miles away in Australia!
Famed for their amazing service, outstanding Californian wine list, mind-blowing cocktails and theatrical steak presentation, dining at Upstairs At The Grill is as memorable, for all the right reasons!
And even though the latest incarnation of their ever-popular lunch menu might be a tad more budget friendly than the full A La Carte experience, it’s still everything you would expect from this iconic eatery.
The teams take on famous classics, alongside a range of their most adored sides, and some clever wine recommendations, make this brand spanking new menu an absolute must.
Served ‘rapido’, the new lunch experience is perfect for colleagues looking to grab a quick bite, shoppers in need of the perfect pit stop and ladies who just love to lunch!
So, what’s for lunch?
Whether you choose to dine ‘al fresco’ up on the sunny terrace (complete with retractable roof), or downstairs in the cosy dining room, lunch here is still an event.
In true UATG style, lunch kicks off with a delicious ‘surprise ‘bread course, complete with their signature bone marrow butter. Beautifully served (like everything here) and the ideal menu browsing accompaniment, it hits the perfect note of premium meets practical!
Moving on to the main event, the simple lunch menu is made up some real crowd pleasers including classic Steak Frites (£12.95) – a well-aged 6oz rump steak, served on a skillet, oozing with Café de Paris Butter, and seasoned American fries.
The Butcher’s Block Sandwich brings together an epic, 28 day dry-aged rump, sweet onions, roasted peppers and tangy aged Gouda, all sandwiched together in a crusty sourdough roll. (£15)
Next up, another UATG favourite, their super-fresh Caesar Salad. Served, dressed and tossed at the table, it’s the perfect combination of crisp cos lettuce, grilled chicken, Parmesan, anchovies, brioche, croutons and lashings of homemade dressing.
If meat is not really your thing, pescatarians, veggies and vegans can also dine in style with their choice of fresh Fish of The Day, (£15), coal roasted with fresh lemon and seasonal accompaniments, or Charred Heritage Cauliflower (£15) with a delicious roast onion puree and herb salsa served with golden American fries.
And if you fancy ‘a bit on the side’ you will be spoilt for choice; from their signature Mac ‘n’ Cheese to the crispy battered Salt and Vinegar Onion Rings and vibrant Heirloom Tomato Salad, with pickled red onion, black garlic and chives, the new lunch is unmistakably, ‘The Grill’.
