The impact of this global sporting event has already had a hugely positive impact on local grass roots netball. The Vitality Netball World Cup North West Schools Tournament staged its own mini world cup earlier this month at Wavertree Sports Park. Netball England and Fan Park host, Liverpool ONE worked in partnership to ensure all players, staff and supporters enjoyed a fantastic day of sporting action.
More than 45 schools and 300 children took to the court to represent a different country. Competition was fierce and the calibre of Netball was sky high. Birkenhead School, The Fallibroome Academy and Alderley Edge School For Girls reigned supreme on the day and a whole load of fun and selfies were had with official Netball World Cup mascot, Jude.
