Watch: All the action from Liverpool Loves Festival 2017
7 years ago
There was a whole load of loving going on in Liverpool city centre yesterday as the sun shone down day one of Liverpool Loves Festival 2017.
Returning to the city, but in a brand new location, Liverpool Loves brought a tonne of music, well-being, food and family fun to Derby Square and Liverpool One on the first day of the festival. The gorgeous weather brought generations of families out to enjoy a different kind of day out in Liverpool.
Little ones had loads of fun at Liverpool One’s Chavasse Park, trying out circus skills, martial arts, all manner of dancing and of course a bit of festival chic glitter face paint! The crowds grabbed a sunny spot on the Liverpool One grassy steps to watch local choirs and performing arts groups rock the Culture Box Stage throughout the afternoon and we followed our noses to Derby Square to check out the street food market offering up Caribbean, Greek, Thai and Spanish cuisine plus loads more (try the churros and refillable chocolate sauce!).
The main stage kicked off at 11 with Soulfest, what a way to start your weekend! Followed by our very own Jay Hynd introducing The Guide Liverpool line up featuring home grown talent in the form of Sub Blue, Delphina Kings and Rob Vincent.
And the fun doesn’t end there, that was just day one! Watch our highlights video above and prepare to do it all again, or check it out for the first time down on Derby Square and Liverpool One for day two, Sunday 6th August 2017 from 11am. What does Liverpool Love? A great family friendly festival in the sun!
