What’s on this week in Liverpool 16th – 22nd September 2019

We’ve got Freshers club nights, live music, lookalike festivals, family fun runs and all the vegan goodness this week in Liverpool.


We’re motoring on through September with tonnes of brilliant event this week in Liverpool. The freshers are here, so club nights and messiness steps up a level, both LFC and EFC are in action at the weekend, there’s not one but to charity run events taking place, plus new markets, vegan delights, cocktail festivals and wrestling!


Here’s the very best of what’s on this week in Liverpool….

Monday 16th September

Cocktail Festival, The Club House

You know those Monday’s when you just need a cocktail, for a fiver? The Club House at Liverpool ONE continues its month long cocktail festival with 10 sublime concoctions for just £5 each from Sunday to Friday from midday. More info here. 

Meatless Monday’s Launch, Phase One

Phase One, Seel Street is launching a brand new meat free/plant based festival type event on Monday. Having carefully selected the very best in northwest vegan street food vendors, live music, plastic free stall – this is one for all the family and dogs. More info here. 

Tequila Freshers, Modo Concert Square

The freshers are here! Modo Concert Square is welcoming students to our fair city with £1 entry and a free tequila shot on Monday night, may as well start as you mean to go on! More info here. 


Tuesday 17th September

Small Plates & Cocktails, Dash

Every Tuesday you can tuck into 3 delicious small plates and a cocktail at Dash, Victoria Street for just £25. Choose from duck spring rolls, chicken satay skewers, super food salad and more. Menus and booking here. 

Motown The Musical, Liverpool Empire

The magic of Motown comes alive in Liverpool this week as Motown the Musical arrives at the Liverpool Empire on Tuesday. Running until Saturday this is your chance to hear all the greats and the story behind one of the most popular and influential genres of music. Tickets here. 

Napoli V Liverpool, District

It’s all down to District on Tuesday as Napoli plays host to the reds. There’s live music, the big screen showing the game and the next best thing to being at the game. More info here. 


Wednesday 18th September

The New Indoor Market, Bootle

The New Bootle Indoor Market is open from this Wednesday. With 34 stalls filled with curiosities and a cafe on site, why not take yourself down to Bankhall Street and have a mooch – Del Boy style? More info here. 

Elation, Freshers Week One, EBGB’s

Elation is back and will be transforming EBGB’s tunnel with a full on lighting production on Wednesday night from 10:30pm. Expect all night house & disco, decor, inflatables, freebies, student drink deals from just £1 and big beats. More info here.

The Menlove Avenue Murder Mystery, Royal Court Theatre

Thursday 19th September

Dinner at Slim’s, Bold Street

We are LOVING the burgers at Slim’s new diner on Bold Street, so much so, we’ve been back twice this week already. The fillet of fish is a delight, teamed with Lo Pan fries and Oreo waffles, get involved! More info here. 

Cherrybomb Launch, The Arts Club

In their own words, Cherrybomb at The Arts Club introduces “5 powerhouses of the Liverpool music scene with a taste for rebellion. Conducted by Katherine Murphy and the revelry provided by Stephi LaReine, Ash Summers, Raven Skobe and Zuzu, this was never going to be ‘’just another club night.” More here. 

Freshers 90’s Rave, Hangar 34

Calling all 24 hour party people, well, freshers! Hangar 34 is hosting one hell of a club night packed with trance, acid house, techno, garage and all the classics. Get down there from 10:30pm on Thursday, tickets here. 


Friday 20th September

Lock & Key 2nd Birthday, Duke Street

One of the city’s most stylish bars celebrates its 2nd birthday on Friday. Lock & Key, Duke Street is marking the occasion with drinks giveaways, live music from Louisiana and of course, loads of pizza on the house! More info here.

Vegan Steak Night, Tusk Baltic

Tusk Baltic is upping the ante with its vegan steak night! Showcasing their plant-based, ultra juicy steak cuts with all the trimmings – triple cooked thick cut chips, vegan Bearnaise sauce and veggies plus vegan craft ales and wine. Book in here. 

OWE Grand Central Hall

Grand Central on Renshaw Street is hosting the OWE, Oriental Wrestling Entertainment this week and Friday marks day three. The elite are flocking from around the UK and China to compete for gold. Check out the full line up here. 


Saturday 21st September

Vegan Fair, St George’s Hall

A massive variety of health, beauty and household products will be available at LABL Vegan Fair Liverpool – Live A Better Life at St George’s Hall on Saturday. Doors open at 10am. More info here. 

Claire House Splash Dash, Sefton Park

The last ever Splash Dash for Claire House is taking place on Saturday at Sefton Park. Merseyside’s messiest 5K is open to the whole family to run, walk, toddle or dance yourself round the course, getting covered in powdered paint at five colour stations on the way! Sign up here. 

Look-A-Like Tribute Festival, Camp & Furnace

There’s one hell of a tribute show lined up for Camp & Furnace on Saturday. From 2pm you;ll see and hear all the greats (tributes) such as Bowie, Oasis, Queen, The Beatles and more plus street food stalls. More info here. 

Prince Night, Baltic Social

Sunday 22nd September

Weekend at Salty’s

Alder Hey Run Together 5k, Croxteth Park

Grab your trainers, the kids and the dog and head to Croxteth Park on Sunday to take part in the Alder Hey Children’s Charity Run Together 5km fun run. The family-friendly fun begins at 10am and you can run, job, walk, skip, cartwheel your way around the course while raising vital funds for Alder Hey. Info here.

The Totally Football Show Live, Epstein Theatre

The Totally Football Show heads to the Epstein Theatre on Monday 25th November for its first ever event in Liverpool! James Richardson and Producer Ben will be joined on stage by Rafa Honigstein (author of the Jurgen Klopp biography) and more. There’ll be puns and punditry, stats and sarcasm, football tales far too cheeky for the regular show, and prizes for the best audience questions of the night. Tickets here.
