Missed out on tickets to Kiev? We’ve got you sorted.
Salah vs. Ronaldo. Zidane vs. Klopp. Liverpool vs. Real Madrid…..the Champions League Final takes place, slap bang in the middle of Bank Holiday weekend on Saturday 26th May at 8pm and the city is buzzing with excitement. If you missed out on tickets to Kiev, fear not, we’ve rounded up the best places to watch every second of this highly anticipated clash.
From big screens to street food, club bangers and BBQ’s, here’s your round up of the best places to watch the Champions League Final in Liverpool…..
1 – Grand Central Hall, Renshaw Street
The Grand Central Hall is one of the cities best kept secrets and is an awe-inspiring venue tucked away above Renshaw Street. Watching the final in here will be a night to remember just by turning up and setting foot in this place, let alone what happens in the game. The stalls have sold out already, but upper tier tickets are still available here, so grab them now before they’re gone!
2 – Camp and Furnace, Greenland Street
Watching the match at Camp and Furnace is a regular thing that you might well take for granted, however when you step back and look at it, it’s an amazing place with an amazing atmosphere. All big games are a treat to watch in the warehouse and this will be on that extra level, preparing you for what will be a summer of football as the World Cup kicks off and will find a home in the Furnace. Tickets are selling quickly and are close to selling out.
3 – North Shore Troubadour
North Shore Troubadour will be providing an all you can eat BBQ on their roof terrace along with a 50-inch screen if you wish to stay in the sunshine for the build up. Downstairs, in the main venue, there will be highlights of the 2005 Istanbul played across a 150 inch Projection, whilst a host of Liverpool’s best DJ’s warm you up to some “funky house and deep house”. The place will be painted RED, confetti cannons at the ready, drinks deals and competitions to help make a night that we are all unlikely to forget any time soon. Tickets here.
4 – Bierkeller, Liverpool ONE
Much like Camp and Furnace, Bierkeller is an industry standard for watching the game with an atmosphere that is a step up from just your local pub in the city centre. The sports bar will be alive with activity throughout the day with screens in every corner of the room and a big screen in the main venue. You can even book tables with beer taps and help yourself to steins full of the golden amber.
5 – Crazy Pedro’s, Parr Street
Liverpool in the final of the Champions League – yes. Liverpool in the final of the Champions League AND PIZZA – now you’re talking. Crazy Pedro’s have announced that they too will be showing the match and we had to include as what could be better than grabbing a slice or two to celebrate the occasion, in one of the coolest, quirkiest bars in the city right now? We’re thinking that maybe a slice for each goal scored could be a decent alternative to a drinking game for this one. Book a table now by emailing info@crazypedros.com
6 – Liverpool Guild Of Students, Mountford Hall
Here’s a rare free event that also takes place in one of the cities lesser known halls. The Mountford Hall in the Guild Of Students will be home to food vendors, screens and bars across The Courtyard and The Sphinx, as well (wait for it), a 21 ft. screen! That’s right, 21ft of action meaning that you miss a kick, unless you’re too bus celebrating the whole thing from 5pm that is. Full details here.
7 – Liverpool Olympia, West Derby Road
R Charity presents the Champions League Final at Liverpool Olympia. For those not making the trip to Kiev, the Olympia claims to “serve as the next best place”, and who are we to disagree? With a giant video wall you’ll feel like you’ve got front row seats. You’ll even have a chance to win ÂŁ100, a bucket of beer, and a 5-a-side game, all helping charity. Tickets are ÂŁ10, or ÂŁ100 for a table of 10, although these are limited, so act fast. Tickets available at www.liverpoololympia.com
8 – Baltic Market All Day Party, Cain’s Brewery Village
Who could want more than just to watch Liverpool in the final of the Champions League with a load of locals? Well, if you are one of those people then this one is for you as the Baltic Market host an all day party in the sunshine with DJs, street food and, of course, a bar, to get you in the mood and add that little bit of spice to the day. Tickets are going quickly so grab them here.
9 – The Dovey, Penny Lane
If a small venue is more your speed, something more local, then The Dovey is the place. This humble yet classy bar just off Penny Lane is a regular for most footy fans in the area and comes alive on match days. During Euro 2016 we were packed in the pub all gawping at the screen during the England games and the place exploded whenever England scored, which, admittedly wasn’t often, but that energy is perfect for those who want a good old-fashioned experience in a local.
10 – The Merchant, Slater Street
The Merchant on Slater Street has a double whammy celebration lined up on bank holiday weekend as it celebrates it’s 2nd birthday with a huge line up of DJ’s and Black Rib BBQ providing the match-day snacks, plus all the live action from Kiev…in the garden! Free to attend event, so grab your mates and get down there.
