Ghoulies Haunted House is Liverpool’s only year round scare attraction, dedicated to giving you nightmares. Based on Dale Street, Ghoulies Haunted House is made up of multiple rooms filled with unimaginable horror and a kick-ass bar where you can either down a shot for courage, or steady your nerves, if you make it out at all.

Ghoulies Haunted House creator John works with a small team to regularly change the ‘scenes’ within the venue to keep you on your toes. Throughout February you can go old school with the Valentine’s inspired ‘Love Bites’ theme and try to out run classic monsters such as werewolves, vampires and more. With three different experiences to choose from, you can explore the Haunted House, brave the 18+ Ghoulies X, which involves direct contact and scenes that would make Freddie Kruger cry like a baby, and of course the Love Bites experience every weekend, Thursday to Sunday.

With a rock soundtrack and a horror theme, this is the perfect alternative place to head to after work or to start (or end) an epic weekend in the city. Here’s 6 things you need to know about Ghoulies Haunted House….

1 – It’s Dead Scary

This kind of goes without saying but believe us, we’ve met John and he’s a proper horror fan and has made it his mission in life to make us all absolutely petrified in new and different ways. Expect gore, guts, drama, a lot of screaming, proper jumpy moments and the overwhelming feeling that something truly awful is about to happen…..and you’ll be half way close to what’s actually going to happen.

2 – It’s got a Bar!

You can stop in for a drink at the Ghoulies Haunted House bar without taking on the scare attraction…..you know…..if you’re too chicken! Serving up themed cocktails such as Monsters Ballin (Absolut, Midori, monster and lime), Mia Wallace (Absolut, Kwai feh, Passos, passionfruit, lime and guava) and our fave, 28 Bevs Later (Kraken, apricot brandy, tiki fire, Havana especial, orange and pineapple juice, lime).

3 – The Special Effects are immense

Ghoulies Haunted House features state-of-the-art animatronics, masks, costumes, live actors, and Special FX. This is no fancy dress shop, fake blood kind of Halloween effort, this is Hollywood grade effects.

3 – You can buzz off your mates

Remember that bar we mentioned? Themed cocktails and shots of courage? Well there’s also screens showing live cctv from the Haunted House itself so you can have a giggle at your mates getting the fright of their lives.

4 – You will be touched

If you take on Ghoulies X, the strictly over 18’s experience, you can expect physical contact, segregation, and mental torture for the purpose of entertainment. Be warned that you will be entering a simulated horror experience.

5 – The ‘Safe’ word is hilarious

If you can’t handle the horror, you can tap out and head to the bar, all it will cost is your dignity! Simply holler ‘ I WANT MY MUMMY’ and you’ll be escorted to the safety of the bar and a stiff drink.
