It’s become the go-to treat when you want to get together with friends and family, have a chat and feast on some gorgeous foodie favourites – and Afternoon Tea is as popular as ever.

Who doesn’t love a tower of tasty sandwiches and savouries, topped by scones with jam and cream and crowned with cakes?

There are lots of hotels and restaurants serving the most amazing Afternoon Teas across the city, and here are some of the best…

Hilton Liverpool City Centre

You can enjoy a quintessentially British Afternoon Tea from 1-4pm in the Cinema Supper Club restaurant at the Hilton. The menu includes a selection of freshly prepared sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, and an array of mini cakes and desserts. Silent black and white movies play in the background, while you sip traditional English breakfast tea.

If you want to go that little bit further, you can upgrade to the ‘Afternoon Tea for two’ in the hotels 7th floor Executive Lounge, where you can take in stunning views of the city and enjoy a Champagne Cocktail upon arrival.

Treat yourself not just to delicious food and drinks, but stunning views of the Mersey and city skyline with Panoramic’s Afternoon Tea, based in the restaurant’s Cocktail Lounge. On the menu you’ll find a selection of luxury sandwiches, as well as sweet treats like Rose & Raspberry Macarons and Cherry Trifle Slices. Also, if you’re with the kids, they can enjoy too, with a special Children’s Afternoon Tea option.

Oh Me Oh My

Oh Me Oh My is open every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 12pm – 3pm for Afternoon Tea. Here you can enjoy petit fours, finger sandwiches and treats all while taking in views of the city. The menu changes seasonally though so keep your eye on the Oh Me Oh My website to find the most current.

Occasionally, it opens on weekend dates for ‘Secret Sessions’ too and you can find out when these are by checking out its events calendar. Vegetarian and vegan options are available and booking is necessary.

Titanic Hotel Liverpool

A sumptuous Afternoon Tea served in the elegant setting of Stanley’s Bar and Grill, overlooking the waters of Stanley Dock, with stunning views of the city. The menu includes finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with fresh clotted cream and mouth-watering sweet treats and cakes created by the restaurant’s expert pastry chef – including gin and tonic macaroons, praline choux bun, victoria sponge and more!

And, of course, a selection of speciality teas or Johnsons coffee, served in vintage china and much-loved pots. Afternoon Tea bookings need to be made at least 24 hours in advance, and it’s served Monday to Friday from 12 – 4pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 – 4:30pm (last order 4:30pm).

Dash, Victoria Street

Indulge in Afternoon Tea with a ‘Dash’ of Asian flavours with this expertly crafted menu at Dash on Victoria Street. You’ll enjoy Snow Crab Rolls and Flamed Beef Sushi Nori as well as a selection of cakes, sweets and treats. You can go for a traditional Afternoon Tea or go a little further and opt for a Champagne Afternoon Tea. Dash is open Wednesday – Sunday.

Municipal Hotel Liverpool

The newly opened Municipal Hotel Liverpool, based on Dale Street, has a whole lot to offer guests, including Afternoon Tea in its stunning Botanic Team Room. The Afternoon Tea features a mixture of sweet and savoury British specialties, including a selection of fresh homemade pastries, cakes and sandwiches that regularly change to reflect the seasons. Afternoon Tea runs from 12-6pm, with last bookings at 5pm, with prices starting from £33 per person midweek.

Art School Cellars

The Art School is one of Liverpool’s most popular fine dining spots, but nestled below the restaurant is the Art School Cellars, with Afternoon Tea being one of its key offerings. There are three levels of Afternoon Tea – Standard, Prosecco and Champagne and the sandwiches and sweets are created in the same kitchen the restaurant uses.

Cuthbert’s Bakehouse

Baking since 2009, Cuthbert’s on Mount Pleasant has achieved quite the reputation for its Afternoon Tea, specifically its ‘New Yorker Afternoon Tea’. The menu features Chicken Caesar Brioches, Reuben Sandwiches, Chocolate Chip Scones, New York Cheesecake and more. The team cover all bases too – you can order a veggie, vegan, gluten free and even a children’s version! And if you want the New Yorker Afternoon Tea but don’t fancy the leaving the house, you can get it delivered too.

Browns

This Liverpool ONE-based restaurant serves Afternoon Tea every day, 3-5pm. On the menu you’ll find raspberry marble birthday cake, savouries, warm scones with seasonal jams, and puddings. Then for drink options you can go for a Good Earth tea, glass of champagne or a cocktail.

Available Monday – Friday, 12-4 and over the weekend, 1-4, the menu has all the favourites, like freshly baked sultana scones with clotted cream, TeaPigs tea, sandwiches and more. And if you really want to jazz your experience up, you can add a glass of Laurent-Perrier to enjoy.

Putting a Caribbean twist on the English classic, visit Revolucion de Cuba at Royal Albert Dock for a Cuban-inspired Afternoon Tea.

Say goodbye to finger sandwiches and hello to chicken skewers, quesadillas, patatas bravas, churros and more for £12.50 per person. Diners can also take their pick from an accompanying glass of Prosecco or a lip-smacking cocktail.

Visit Royal Albert Dock’s resident Vokda bar, Revolution for a booze-infused version of Britain’s tastiest tradition. Tuck into cheeseburger sliders, Jalapeno Poppers and cheesy bacon fries before an indulgent trio of desserts, with vegetarian and vegan options also available.

Served with two Rev flavour shots of choice, diners can also choose between a cocktail or a glass of Prosecco for £17.50pp.
