10 things to do at Crosby Beach

Located just a few miles north of Liverpool, Crosby Beach is a sandy gem that attracts visitors from near and far.

Get a picture with one of the Iron Men
“Another Place” by Antony Gormley, known locally as “The Iron Men” is an awe-inspiring art installation that graces the shores of Crosby Beach.
Consisting of 100 cast iron figures spread over two miles, these haunting sculptures stand against the backdrop of the sea, creating a powerful and thought-provoking sight that captivates visitors and reflects the relationship between humanity and nature.
Visit the Bus Yard for a drink
Bus Yard is an innovative outdoor bar situated within a converted double-decker bus. This unique hub offers fit food, stunning cocktails, and a vibrant atmosphere with regular live music, providing visitors with a memorable experience.
It has a large cornered off seating area with beach huts and shelters with fantastic views of the coast and Anthony Gormley’s ‘Iron Men’ sculptures.
Take a walk down the promenade
A perfect scenic walk if you’re walking you pooch or just wanting to get them extra steps in.
This route runs for just under 5 miles from Waterloo to Hightown, using flat paths. The walk starts and finishes at railway stations so you can catch the train back at the end of your exercise if you like.
The route starts from Waterloo Station, on the Northern Line of the Merseyrail network, and is a short walk to the Marine Lake and the coastal path.
Get a cone from the famous ice cream man
Go and find Soul Ice Cream Van!
This vintage-style ice cream van offers a variety of delicious ice cream and lolly-ice’s (yes it’s a lolly-ice … not an ice-lolly), serving up classic favourites to satisfy any sweet tooth.
Headed by Marcel Giglio the van has had many celebrities get their 99ers including John Bishop and Sir Ian McKellen.
Have a meal at The Lake House
Sitting alongside the leisure facilities at Sefton Council’s Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre, The Lake House is home to a stunning café and restaurant.
It offers the very best of local produce, freshly prepared food and drinks. So whether you’re looking for a meal with the family or a coffee, cake and a catch-up with friends, there’s something for everyone, making it a destination you have to visit around Crosby Beach.
Watch the sunset
We get some boss sunsets in Liverpool – there’s nothing like that golden hour in the city. But if you pop down the road to Crosby Beach you’re gonna be in for a treat.
Watching the sun go down where the River Mersey meets the Irish Sea is a beauty to behold… so if it’s something you have never done – get it on your list immediately.

We’re so lucky to have a beach this close to us – so in gorgeous weather like this who needs a flight to Spain?
