12 more Liverpool restaurants open for outside dining from 12 April
4 years ago
Not long now until we can all get out to eat again and trying to book an outdoor weekend table is already starting to be a bit like getting Glastonbury tickets.
But there are some still to be had and especially now more places have announced they’re opening up their outside space for when restrictions ease on April 12.
Here are another 12 where you can get yourself a table, hopefully in the sun, and start making the most of Liverpool’s fantastic restaurants again …
Revolucion de Cuba, Albert Dock
There’s pretty much zero chance of actually getting anywhere like Cuba at the moment, but cocktails and tapas at Rev de Cuba can at least get us dreaming. It’s reopening the outside area from April 12, on a first-come first-served basis, so there’s no table booking until May 17.
Madre, Albert Dock
Tacos, margaritas and chilled tunes are back on at Madre in the outdoor suntrap of Anchor Courtyard at Albert Dock. It’s open all week from April 12 and bookings are already flying but the good news is they keep half the space for walk-ins so it’s definitely worth taking your chances.
The Art School restaurant
The Art School Cellars courtyard looks like the kind of place you’d stumble across down a cobbled street on a Mediterranean holiday – gorgeous bare bulb lighting, beautiful flowers and cute outdoor tables in an away-from-it all setting. It’s all there and that’s before we even get started on the food.
Rosa’s Thai CafĂ©, Albert Dock
If you love Thai food then Rosa’s Thai Café at the Albert Dock is a real treat – and it’s got a great outdoor seating area overlooking the water so it’s one of the best locations too. Get booking for fabulous al fresco Thai curries, noodles and stir fries.
Il Forno
Worried it might still be a bit chilly to eat outside? Il Forno on Duke Street’s got that sorted because it’s terrace is heated and covered so weather can’t stand in the way of amazing Italian food. Bocconcini small plates outside or one of Il Forno’s famous wood-fire pizzas? Go on then.
Castle Street Townhouse
Tables outside Castle Street Townhouse are one of the prime spots to people watch and they’re back from April 12. They’re walk-ins only, booking isn’t on again until May 17, and there’ll be a menu of light bites and nibbles as well as lots of speciality gin serves and cocktails obviously.
ASK, Queen Square
The sunshine in Queen Square might not always been quite like Italy, but the food definitely is – you can feast like an Italian at Ask and if you take the family, there’s a kids’ menu which includes a special happy face pizza – who wouldn’t want that after months of going nowhere?
Viva Brazil
Caipirinhas in the sun on Castle Street? That’s a massive yes and Viva Brazil doesn’t just do the classic, it’s got a whole menu dedicated to them! Would it be OK to try them all? Maybe if we promise to keep all the meats coming too. Outdoor seating opens from April 12.
La Finca Eivissa
What we wouldn’t give to be in Ibiza right now … but at least we can have a taste it because La Finca Eivissa on Back Colquitt Street is opening up the hatch at weekends, from April 16, for tapas and cocktails to take away – perfect for a little Ibizan picnic.
What’s Cooking, Albert Dock
Another great place overlooking the water, What’s Cooking is opening its outdoor seating from April 12 onwards, with a limited menu of favourites (please let the fajitas have made it). It’s walk-ins only for now, bookings from May 17, but there’s lots of tables so you could well get lucky.
Rudy’s
Another place making the most of Liverpool Without Walls, so you can sit outside and have pizza without all the traffic going past on Castle Street. If you like your pizza authentic, just like they make them in Naples, then Rudy’s is the place to head for al fresco eating from April 12.
Brown’s, Liverpool ONE
We all know that April 12 is the big day for shops reopening, so if you’re in Liverpool ONE and looking for somewhere to eat, Browns has its lovely big outdoor seating area open again from that date. There’s a reduced al fresco menu of favourites and you can book ahead.
