14 things you can get up to across Liverpool this week

It’s only Monday but we’re already free-wheeling towards the long weekend, with half an eye on a big three-dayer.

There’s loads happening in Liverpool this week so ease yourself in to the Bank Holiday with these 14 things to do…

International Beatleweek kicks off

Bands and Fab Four fans from around the world will be descending on Liverpool to celebrate our city’s most famous musical export. Presented by Cavern City Tours, the focus is on live music at various venues including three stages at the Cavern Club and Pub, plus guest speakers and stalls. On from August 23-29.

Get Back to Play – Skiffle Band session at Strawberry Field

Kids can get involved in Beatleweek too and follow in the early footsteps of the Beatles with a visit to Strawberry Field this Tuesday. Everyone knows about the rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester, especially when it comes to footy, and this play has that at its heart. Produced by LIPA graduate Callum O’Brien and written by Nicky Allt, it looks beyond the clashes to find there can be more that unites us than divides us. On Thursday and Friday.
