Fans are being invited to trade their beds for sleeping bags as the LFC Foundation’s annual Kip on the Kop event returns, alongside LFC supporter and comedian John Bishop.

The initiative aims to generate crucial funds and awareness for individuals experiencing homelessness throughout the Liverpool City Region.

Back for its fourth year, Kip on the Kop will take place on Saturday, September 26, offering participants the unique opportunity to spend a night on the iconic Kop stand. Registration is now open—you can sign up today by clicking here.

While spending one night on the Kop cannot fully replicate the reality of homelessness, the experience gives participants a moment to reflect on the hardships endured by those without a safe, stable home, fostering a deeper understanding of the challenges facing our local communities.

Last year’s event saw over 400 supporters rally together to raise £119,575 in aid of the LFC Foundation and Liverpool Homeless FC.

Comedian and Liverpool Homeless FC ambassador John Bishop will once again brave the night on the stand, following last year’s event where former Red Sammy Lee, LFC Foundation community ambassador Chris Kirkland, and actor-comedian Crissy Rock joined him.

Speaking about Kip on the Kop, John Bishop said:

“Kip on the Kop is a really special event because it brings so many people together for such an important cause. Spending one night on the Kop doesn’t compare to the reality that many people face, but it does make you stop and think.

“Homelessness is not just rough sleeping; it is not having a place to call home and moving between hostels. That is something too many people – including children – experience in our city. By joining us in Kip on the Kop, you are taking a step to end that once and for all.

“The support last year was incredible, and hopefully even more Reds will sign up for this September so we can raise even more money for two organisations doing fantastic work across our communities”

John Finnigan CEO of Homeless FC said:

“The partnership between Liverpool Homeless Football Club and the LFC Foundation continues to have a transformative impact on both our organisation and the people we support – extending far beyond football.

“The LFC Foundation’s ongoing investment enables us to expand our services, strengthen our delivery and create meaningful opportunities for individuals experiencing homelessness and social exclusion.”

Money raised from this year’s sleepout will directly support the LFC Foundation’s Pathway to Works scheme—which delivers sport-driven job training and mentorship for young people affected by homelessness—alongside the vital wellbeing and outreach programs run by Liverpool Homeless FC.
