5 reasons why we love Lark Lane in the summer time
Lark Lane

The L17 street has long been known as the hippy, happy place to chill out, especially during the summer months.

With countless restaurants and cafes to choose from plus deli’s, supermarkets, galleries and more, Lark Lane truly comes to life throughout Spring and Summer, and its close proximity to Sefton Park, makes this the perfect place to grab a lazy lunch with your loved one, an ice-cream with the kids or a cold beer with your mates.

Lark Lane is also a thriving little nightspot with tonnes of bars with something for everyone. Pub quiz, yoga class, house beats or classical mandolin, this cultural melting pot has a beat, a vibe and a warm welcome for everyone.

It even has its own website check out the brilliant Lark Lane Guide for lots more info on where to eat and what to do www.larklaneguide.com

Here’s 5 reasons why we love Lark Lane in the summer time…..

1 – It’s so pretty

Laden with flower boxes and hanging baskets in full bloom, fewer shopping streets in Liverpool are as quirky as Lark Lane. A bustling little high street, it’s filled with independent shop signs, terraced houses, old red brick buildings like Lark Lane Police Station and of course the blinding strip lights of the Co-op. But hey, somehow it works.

2 – Al Fresco Eats

There’s countless places to soak up the rays while indulging in a culinary feast down on Lark Lane. Get a taste for Spain with tapas on the terrace at Esteban, get a pizza and a pint at Love & Rockets (the smores pizza is divine!) and if all else fails, grab some butties from the Moon & Pea Deli and hit Sefton Park for a picnic, just 10 yards across the road!

3 – Community Ties

Lark Lane feels homely, bit like Cheers but not as cheesy and when the weather is fine, people stop and chat on the street more. Shop owners genuinely ‘know’ their customers and just a quick search on Facebook throws up all manner of groups ‘Born on Lark Lane’, ‘Lark Lane Housing Co-op’ and ‘Lark Lane Farmers Market’ to name a few. The infamous Keith’s Wine Bar to us is a community focal point, how many times have said “Let’s just meet at Keith’s?”.

4 – World Cuisine

Got the holiday blues? Relive those warm summer nights dining out on Lark Lane. From the far east to the middle east and right back to Liverpool for a bowl of scouse, there’s literally a world of food on one street here. We love Chy for a Chinese banquet, Medjool for a bit of spice, Meat Factory for big ass burgers and Milo Lounge for filling tapas. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to dining out on Lark Lane.

5 – Nightlife

Summer nights roll in to Lark Lane from summer days in the park and there’s no where better to enjoy a glass of red or crisp glass of white (or both) and enjoy the chilled atmosphere on the lane. Ramp things up a bit across the road at Love & Rockets, Writer’s Block and The Lodge or catch the match day fever at The Albert.
