7 reasons to get racing after Harry the Hare this Easter
7 months ago
Advertorial
The Easter holidays are always choc-ful of great things for families to do, but just when you thought it couldnât get any more eggs-citing Liverpool BID Company has teamed up with Bluecoat Display Centre to create a fun and fab city centre trail.
Itâll take you on a great trek through the city centre in search of fast and nimble woodland whizzkid Harry the Hare.
Its creator, artist Emma Rodgers, said:
âIt has been such a pleasure to be part of the âHarry Hare Easter Trailâ and itâs great fun for all ages while highlighting some of the real gems around this beautiful city.â
If you want more reasons why you should put it in the family diary over Easter â hereâs seven!
Time to have fun
The Harry the Hare Easter Trail runs from now until Friday, April 5 so thereâs plenty of time to get searching for Harry â and he doesnât half get about!
Where to spot Harry
You can spot Harry at six key city centre venues:
* Bluecoat Display Centre
* Cass Art
* Castle Fine Art
* LUSH
* The Royal Court Theatre, and
* Key Lime Coffee St Johns
Each venue is beautifully decorated with specially commissioned scenes depicting Harry racing through the city just like you (although you can take a more leisurely stroll of course!).
Emma said:
âThe adventure begins at The Bluecoat Display Centre where we have created a window of my sculptures inspired by the trail. Families are then led through the city centre and each venue is adorned with leaping hares created from my sketches.âÂ
Itâs for everyone
The trail will keep everyone in the family entertained for hours as they hunt through the city for hoppy Harry.
Kids will love the challenge of following the downloadable map to take you on the recommended route and find all the places, and youâll all love and appreciate the individual artworks.
Celebration of a great local artist
The trail has been launched in celebration of Easter and of acclaimed Wirral-based sculptor Emma.
It was Emma, who was famously commissioned by the family of Cilla Black to create the public art sculpture of the popular singer and TV presenter which is now a permanent feature outside the Cavern Club in Mathew Street; and her work is currently being exhibited at Bluecoat Display Centre.
Did someone say eggs?
As well as being able to view great artworks of the delightful hare, thereâll be Easter eggs to pick up on the trail.Â
You can enter an amazing competition
After following the trail, families can enter a competition to win a bespoke Harry the Hare chocolate bunny created by Emma herself along with Wirral based chocolatier The Chocolate Cellar whoâve used their skill and expertise to create what must be the most scrumptiousness pieces of art ever.
Emma added:
âThe hares are moulded from my sculptures and painted by hand to finish.â
