Hospital hoe-down as fundraisers get ready to shuffle and shake-it-out for Alder Hey
2 years ago
Thereāll be line dancing and country music in the main atrium at the West Derby hospital, and anyone whoās there will be invited to take their partners for a do-si-do, or a quick slide shuffle over lunch.
Patients and staff at Alder Hey are getting ready to pop it, lock it, and polka-dot it this Friday as the hospital gets set to host a taster for a hoe-down.
The idea is to have some fun, and get everyone in the bank holiday mood before Monday.
But itās also to publicise an even bigger Hoe-down event this June at Ten Streets Social to raise money for Alder Hey Childrenās Charity.
āWe are putting the FUN into fundraising this summer at our Hoe-down,ā says Helen Hughes, the Community and Fundraising Manager at Alder Hey, āso get in line to practice and have some fun with our amazing staff and families before the big event.ā
For the main event, the barn doors will open at 6.30pm at Ten Streets Socialās Regent Road venue on June 17, with a DJ, disco, live band, line dancing ā you can follow their experienced dancers or go free-style on your own ā and more.
Thereās a Cowboy Cocktail on arrival at the Alder Hey Hoe-Down, and two-courses of ālip-smackingā grub being served on the night with tickets costing Ā£40 per person.
The night includes a best dressed competition ā so double down on the denim, pimp your Stetson, polish those cowboy boots, or personalise your bandana to be in with a chance to be crowned best dressed on the night!
āWe hope everyone can join us for the main event on June 17, it really is going to be a fun-filled night to remember for an amazing cause,ā adds Helen. āYee -haw!ā
