9 comedy shows to get you laughing at the M&S Bank Arena Liverpool

THEY say laughter’s the best medicine – and if that’s the case the M&S Bank Arena Liverpool has prescribed a full course of treatment to keep you happy and healthy throughout the year!

The M&S Bank Arena has got some huge comedy names lined up over the next 12 months – and beyond – to offer the perfect, fun-filled night for you and the family.

So if you want to laugh the night away – and who doesn’t?! –  they’ve absolutely got you sorted. 

Bill Bailey – Thoughtifier

After his successful stint on Strictly, Bill Bailey’s back on the road and he’s stopping off in Liverpool on Saturday, March 2. The plan’s to take us on a jaunt through the ‘error-strewn, distracted, crumb-festooned, sometimes magnificent history of human thought’ and look at how it might help us survive in this brave new world. So, buckle up for a mirth-filled magical, musical mystery tour of the mind.

Michael McIntyre – MACNIFICENT

His big break came when he performed on the 2006 Royal Variety Performance and since then Michael McIntyre has become one of the most successful comedians in the world. Macnificent begins with a show reel of his highlights before he reminds us the best is yet to come with fast-paced jokes and routines about the oddities of the ordinary. Relatable and roll-about funny. He’s at the arena from Friday to Saturday, April 19-20 – but be quick because the second night’s already sold out!

Adam Rowe – What’s Wrong With Me?

The host of hit podcast Have A Word’s got a brand-new stand-up tour and it’s parking up in the city on Saturday, May 18. Adam’s spent a bit of time self-reflecting and he’s come to the conclusion that there’s something wrong with him, although for a hypochondriac, that’s not exactly news. 

Sarah Millican – Late Bloomer

Hard to believe but when Sarah Millican was growing up she wouldn’t say boo to a goose. She was quiet at school, didn’t have many friends and had no boobs till she was 16 (her words not ours!). Now she’s loud, got great friends, and a ‘cracking rack’, and in her new show she reveals all about her transformation. Sarah’s on on Saturday and Sunday, June 1-2 and, while it’s sold out, there’s a waiting list so fingers crossed.

Ed Byrne – Tragedy Plus Time

From ‘stand-up at its best’ to a ‘masterful display of the comics art’ the reviews have been 5-star for the Mock the Week and Have I Got News for You panellist. Always popular he’s bringing his brand-new show Tragedy Plus Time to Liverpool on Sunday, September 8, and looks like it’s another must-see.

Paul Smith – Pablo

This is Paul Smith’s biggest and funniest tour show yet, and it’ll have you rolling around in the aisles. As always there’ll be a bit of audience interaction along with hilarious true stories from his everyday life. He’s pitching up on Saturday, October 26, so make sure there’s space in your diary to get this one in.

Jason Manford – A Manford All Seasons

Over the years he’s shown us there’s more to him than just stand-up – who knew he could act and sing so well?! – but it’s the fun Jason Manford’s best known for, straddling the line between contemporary laughter maker and old-school comedian. His last show, Like Me, saw him get standing ovations night after night and we doubt this’ll be any different. Jason’s on at the arena on Friday, November 22.

Peter Kay – Better Late Than Never

This is Peter Kay’s first tour in 12 years and it’s an absolute belter so if you’ve not managed to catch up with him yet, seize the chance. You’ll have to wait because he’s not back at the arena until Saturday, November 22, 2025, but it’ll be worth it, looking forward to Kay’s hilarious anecdotes, misheard music lyrics and, of course, those ad jingles. Nostalgic fun – but be prepared for some sentimentality too!

Jimmy Carr: Laughs Funny

Well tell us something we don’t know! You’re guaranteed a fast-paced delivery and some fantastic one-liners from the on-the-ball comic who’s going to be on stage ‘with guests’ on Thursday, December 11, next year. His humour can get a bit dark so it’s not recommended for under 16s, but if that’s the sort of stuff you like, you’ll love this.
