Catalyst Science Discovery Centre launches summer programme filled with family fun
1 hour ago
From colourful experiments and science workshops to interactive exhibits, Catalyst Science Discovery Centre is inviting families to discover a summer full of curiosity, creativity and fun.
This summer, Catalyst is inviting visitors to swap rainy-day worries and summer holiday boredom for big reactions, bright sparks and hands-on fun. Whether it is hot outside, raining outside, or the children are already saying “I’m bored”, Catalyst has a packed programme of interactive exhibits, workshops and activities to keep young minds busy, curious and entertained.
With summer workshops available from just £2.75 per person in addition to museum admission, Halton residents able to visit for just £5 per person, and annual passes available from £12.95, Catalyst is offering plenty of big reactions for small prices this summer.
From colourful investigations and hands-on workshops to interactive exhibits and summer activities, visitors can expect science they can touch, test, make, explore and remember. Catalyst’s summer campaign celebrates the idea that big reactions do not need a big price tag – with plenty to discover under one roof, whatever the weather has planned.

Catalyst CEO Nikki Burton Mallott said:
“Summer plans can be hard to predict, especially with the British weather, but Catalyst is a brilliant place for families to enjoy a day out come rain or shine. Situated next to the famous Spike Island, families can make a real day of it – cooling off indoors when it’s hot, keeping dry when the rain arrives, and discovering hands-on science whatever the forecast. We want children to have those big ‘wow’ moments – the kind where they ask questions, get stuck in and want to do it all again. With great-value tickets, community pricing for Halton residents and hands-on science throughout the summer, Catalyst is the perfect place for curious kids and grown-ups too.”
Summer workshops give families even more reasons to visit or come back throughout the holidays. Workshop activities encourage children to learn through play, investigation and discovery, with opportunities to get hands-on and experience science in a fun and memorable way.
Catalyst is also highlighting its great-value offer for local residents, with Halton residents able to enjoy entry for just £5 per person as part of its community pricing offer available until the End of July. Proof of address is required.
Families are encouraged to book online in advance and check the Catalyst website for the latest summer activities, workshop availability, ticket information and visitor details.
