St Helens family win Jet2holiday as inaugural flight takes off from Liverpool

Last Thursday marked a memorable day for a family from St Helens as they embarked on the first Jet2holidays’ flight from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, only to be surprised with an extraordinary gift.

Lindsey Smith, along with her family, found themselves aboard the inaugural flight to Tenerife from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA), where CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, Steve Heapy, announced her as the fortunate winner of a holiday.

The prize includes a 7-night stay at the Paradise Park Fun Lifestyle Hotel in Tenerife for Lindsey, her partner, and their two children.

The unexpected giveaway was part of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ grand celebrations to commemorate their inaugural flight from LJLA, their 11th UK base airport. The morning was filled with jubilation as customers and colleagues joined in the festivities.

Not stopping at one lucky winner, hundreds of holidaymakers onboard the maiden flight were treated to a VIP experience, complete with a red-carpet welcome and personalised gifts. Before boarding, passengers were entertained by The Beatles for Sale, a tribute band, while the first ten holidaymakers to check-in received a pair of Jet2 flight vouchers.

The arrival of Jet2 in Liverpool marks a significant expansion of the company’s presence in the UK, providing holidaymakers and independent travel agents in Merseyside, and the surrounding region, with access to the renowned Which? Travel Brand of the Year.

Jet2 now offer 20 sunshine destinations for Summer 2024 from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, with a fleet of four based aircraft catering to a wide range of destinations across Europe.

Six of these destinations are exclusive to Jet2 from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, including Gran Canaria, Menorca, Rhodes, Zante, Madeira, and Bourgas (Bulgaria).
