People can get free rides on Voi e-scooters and e-bikes in Liverpool – if they complete a safe scooter skills session at a free event next week.
Voi is running an event in Toxteth to help people in Liverpool learn how to ride e-scooters and e-bikes – covering the basics from how to sign up, to the rules of the road.
The event is taking place on Wednesday 24 July, at Princes Boulevard, Liverpool, between 10am to 4pm.
The scooter skills training session, run by National Cycling Academy will take around 30 minutes.
Participants get a day pass worth Ā£7.99, so they can ride for free throughout the session, and an extra 15 minutes of free riding time to practice riding safely afterwards. They also get a free helmet, worth Ā£35.

The next live webinars are on Tuesday 23 July. They run monthly until 12 December 2024 and can be booked here. Anyone completing one of them will get 30 minutes of free riding credits.
To ride a Voi e-scooter, download the Voi app, upload a copy of your full or provisional driving licence, take a selfie and complete the online safety driving school. Use the app to find the nearest vehicle, scan a QR code to unlock and ride. Voi advises riders to wear helmets. All riders must be aged 18 or over.
