New Nurse-led pregnancy clinic ‘Love at first Scan’ has launched in Liverpool

A new nurse led pregnancy clinic Love at first Scan, has opened its doors in Liverpool, offering expectant parents expert clinical care alongside a warm and welcoming space to celebrate one of life’s biggest milestones.

Love at First Scan has launched on Eaton Road in West Derby, opposite Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, with a mission to combine professional healthcare with a more personal pregnancy experience.

Founded by Liverpool mum and registered nurse Leah Brown, the CQC registered clinic offers a range of private pregnancy and women’s health services, all delivered by fully qualified HCPC registered sonographers in a clinically regulated environment.

Services include early pregnancy and reassurance scans from six weeks, wellbeing and gender scans from 14 weeks, and 4D baby bonding scans between 24 and 32 weeks using HD Live technology to capture detailed images and videos of babies before they’re born.

The clinic also provides private gynaecology scans and non invasive prenatal testing.

Leah says the idea came from her own experience while pregnant with her two daughters.

She said:

“Love at First Scan is exactly the sort of clinic I was looking for when I was pregnant with my girls, who are now two years and seven months old.

“Some private clinics can feel far too clinical and impersonal, while others are not run by registered or regulated practitioners that you feel you can fully trust.

“I wanted to create somewhere in Liverpool that offered the highest clinical standards, but in a warm, welcoming environment where families feel genuinely supported, listened to and cared for.”

Leah believes the clinic fills an important gap for parents looking for reassurance between routine NHS appointments.

She said:

“It can feel like a very long time to wait for that first scan, especially for parents who have been trying for a baby for a while and might be feeling anxious.

“For many people, the pregnancy doesn’t feel completely real until they see their baby moving on the screen.

“Gender scans and bonding scans are such special milestones because they allow families to celebrate their baby and build that connection long before they’re born. We want to make those moments even more memorable.”

The clinic has already welcomed dozens of families since opening and has received 85 five star Google reviews in its first six months.

Looking ahead, Leah hopes to grow the West Derby clinic into a wider women’s health hub.

She added:

“Seeing such positive feedback from families has been incredibly reassuring. It tells us that what we’re doing is needed and, most importantly, that we’re doing it well.”

Love at First Scan is based on Eaton Road in West Derby and offers appointments for pregnancy scans, women’s health scans and non invasive prenatal testing.
