Royal Court Liverpool announces cast for The Scouse Red Riding Hood, and more festive shows
1 month ago
Christmas is just around the corner, and Liverpool’s Royal Court is gearing up for another hit festive season.
The Scouse Red Riding Hood is coming to Liverpool’s Royal Court on 8 November 2024 and runs until 18 January 2025.
Written by Kevin Fearon, with musical direction by Howard Gray and directed by Mark Chatterton, the team that brought The Scouse Cinderella, The Scouse Snow White, and The Scouse Jack & The Beanstalk is back with more laughter, music, and a lot of Scouse charm.
Christmas is coming and nan is laid up as her sciatica is giving her gyp. It’s down to Little Red and her mate Big Blue to get out to her cottage in Spinney Woods with a proper scran. She wants some of that CBD rubbing oil you get from the place in St John’s that does the Spanish cleaning products too.
There are strange creatures that lurk in Spinney Woods but they meet a lad with a big chopper who makes them feel safe. They’d better watch out for the beasties and bugs. The snakes and scorpions. The woollybacks and… wolves!
The cast is (from left) Adam McCoy, Andrew Schofield, Chantel Cole, Emma-Grace Arends, Keddy Sutton, Liam Topbin, Lindzi germain, Lydia Rosa Morales-Scully, Paul Duckworth.
Kevin Fearon, executive producer at Liverpool’s Royal Court, said:
“The Christmas Show is a chance to see all your favourites at Liverpool’s Royal Court, with plenty of laughs and lots of music. Rehearsals so far have been a lot of fun, and we know that audiences are going to love this. It’s a great way to finish another blockbuster year of Scouse shows.”Â
But wait—there’s myrrh!
Scouse Red Riding Hood isn’t the only Christmas show coming to Liverpool’s Royal Court this festive season.
At the Royal Court Studio enjoy festive shows from 19 November with two shows presenting the very best in emerging and grassroots talent in Scouse land.
