Camp Knowsley is back with even more family adventures
54 minutes ago
The popular summer event returns with six weeks of bushcraft adventures, campfire cooking, survival skills and Safari Sleepovers, all included as part of a wild family day out.
Camp Knowsley is a fun way for the whole family to get hands-on in natural woodland and learn more about nature and survival skills. Bushcraft activities will be roaring back between Monday 20th July to Monday 31st August, to keep even the most energetic youngsters entertained during the school holidays.
Every day, young and old alike can get hands on with the Bushtucker Challenge, including survival tasks and crafts including paracord survival bracelet making, stone age tools pendant making, fire-lighting, first aid – and even bug eating!
Visitors can also immerse themselves in woodland activities including nature trails, den building, pancake making and marshmallow toasting on a real campfire and learning how to purify water.

Camp Knowsley is included in the regular admission price and under the Government’s Great British Summer Savings Scheme, visitors can take advantage of reduced rates for the whole summer. And there are endless wild adventures to be had with the Safari’s own Great British Summer Pass also launching on 6th July until 31st August, meaning unlimited visits all summer long at just £45.50 per adult and £41.13 per child.
For the ultimate thrill-seekers’ adventure the Safari Sleepover will provide a unique Safari escape, including all the Camp Knowsley bushcraft activities, with the added wow factor of sleeping under canvas surrounded by over 500 Safari animals, including Southern white rhino, Amur tigers, giraffes, zebra and Andean bears.
The Safari Sleepover experience includes songs around the campfire, a VIP Safari Tour, cooking breakfast on the campfire and exclusive use of an explorer-style bell tent, complete with beds and cosy blankets.
Safari Sleepovers will take place on three different Saturdays in August – 8th, 15th and 22nd. Eight safari tents are available on each of the designated sleepover nights, with each tent accommodating up to four people.

Head of Marketing & Sales at Knowsley Safari, Helena Berry, says:
“We’re thrilled to be expanding Camp Knowsley this year, offering families great value days out and even more opportunities to get hands-on, explore, learn new skills and immerse themselves in the great outdoors – as well as more chances to experience the Safari under the Stars with our extra special Safari Sleepover.
“Guests can combine our action-packed bushcraft programme with the chance to see amazing animals up close. Running every day in the summer holidays, this will be our wildest summer ever!”
