Get ready for an unforgettable two-day event as 400 girls from 40 schools across Merseyside come together for an exciting stadium visit hosted by Everton in the Community (EitC), Everton Football Club’s official charity, as part of the ‘She Inspires’ initiative.

Funded by Merseyside’s Chief Constable and Police Commissioner, the She Inspires programme runs throughout the academic year and uses fun, motivational football sessions delivered by professional coaches from EitC and the LFC Foundation, alongside educational workshops, covering topics including healthy relationships, resilience and teamwork. It is designed to empower young girls through the power of sport, improve their confidence and help them to reach their full potential, both on and off the pitch.

The girls will be given an exclusive tour of the iconic Goodison Park stadium, exploring the players’ tunnel, the dressing rooms and walking pitch side, experiencing firsthand the excitement and history of one of England’s most storied football clubs. The girls will also take part in workshops focusing on Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), delivered by Merseyside Police and E-STEAM team building activities using equipment from EitC’s Digital Skills Lab.

The programme continues to evolve each year and the stadium visits offer a welcome addition.

Chief Constable Serena Kennedy KPM said:

I am proud to work alongside partners to support positive initiatives that provide more opportunities for young people in our communities.

“She Inspires continues to open doors and inspire more young women across Merseyside. We continue to see improvements in confidence, resilience and self-esteem of the young women who have taken part, inspiring them to believe in themselves so that they can be whatever they want to be.”

Police Commissioner Emily Spurrell said:

“We already know that football is a great way to engage and inspire young people, particularly here in Merseyside and since its launch two years ago, She Inspires has been a gateway for young women to engage in sport, build confidence, improve self-esteem and grow potential.

“To be able to give 400 girls the opportunity to explore one of our two great Premier League stadiums shows how this initiative continues to evolve, as we look for new, engaging ways to reach more young women, showing them that anything is possible.

“This visit complements the offer we already have in place, whilst offering an unforgettable experience for the girls to tour Goodison Park, a ground steeped in history, and to walk the same corridors where some of the country’s greatest players have walked across the years.

“As She Inspires goes from strength to strength, I have no doubt we’ll be hearing of even more success stories in the years to come, as more women benefit from this wonderful project, setting them on a positive path to achieving their dreams.”

Anthony Harden, Senior Manager – Youth and Support, Everton in the Community said:

“We’re delighted to host an exclusive event at Goodison Park for the She Inspires programme. To engage with 400 young people from 40 schools across Merseyside over two consecutive days is testament to the quality and reach of the collaborative partnership and we’re proud to be part of such an empowering initiative. We hope the girls enjoy their experience at the stadium and learn some new skills along the way.”
