After fifteen years, Ghost Stories—the terrifying and thrilling stage sensation—returns to the Liverpool Playhouse from Tuesday 11 – Saturday 15 March.

Created by Andy Nyman and Jeremy Dyson, Ghost Stories has captivated audiences worldwide with record-breaking, sell-out performances and even a smash-hit film.

Written and directed by The League of Gentlemen’s Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman, co-creator of Derren Brown’s television and stage shows, Ghost Stories originally premiered at Liverpool Playhouse in 2010 under the direction of Dyson, Nyman, and Sean Holmes. It later transferred to the West End and was adapted into a horror film in 2017.

Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman, writers and directors of Ghost Stories, said:

“We are beyond thrilled to be bringing ‘Ghost Stories’ back to the theatre where it all began. The Liverpool audiences will forever hold a special place in our hearts and we cannot wait to hear them scream and laugh all over again”

When Professor Goodman, arch-sceptic out to debunk the paranormal, embarks on an investigation of three apparent hauntings – as recounted by a night-watchman, a teenage boy, and a businessman awaiting his first child – Goodman finds himself at the outer limits of rationality, and fast running out of explanations.

Professor Goodman is played by Dan Tetsell (Rivals, Disney+), while David Cardy (Birds of a Feather, ITV) plays Tony Matthews, Eddie Loodmer-Elliott (Modi: Three Days on the Wing of Madness) plays Simon Rifkind, Clive Mantle (Casualty, BBC) plays Mike Priddle, and Lloyd McDonagh (The Tempest, Shakespeare’s Globe) plays The Others, along with Lucas Albion as ensemble and Simon Bass as the understudy.

On Tuesday, 11 March, there will be a post-show discussion following the evening performance. The discussion will feature Ghost Stories writers and directors Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman, and it will be hosted by Nathan Powell, Creative Director of the Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse Theatres. The discussion is free to attend with a ticket to the performance.

Tickets for Ghost Stories are priced from ÂŁ12 – ÂŁ47 and are available here.
