The Bombed Out Church to host new heartwarming community event – Kindness Rocks @BOC
KINDNESS ROCKS @BOC

On Saturday 15 February The Bombed Out Church will host Kindness Rocks @BOC – a heartfelt initiative dedicated to helping those experiencing homelessness.

Kindness Rocks @BOC will see 400 hand-knitted scarves donated to those experiencing homelessness through The Whitechapel Centre.

The public is invited to come along and celebrate the power of kindness at this unique event.

Launched in 2023, Kindness Rocks @BOC was inspired by the children’s book Kindness Rocks, written by local children’s author, Sheryl Webster, which tells the story of a rockstar lion whose world collides with a homeless bear, introducing young readers to homelessness and the impact of small acts of kindness.

To turn this message into action, Sheryl invited knitters from across Liverpool to join forces to create scarves, and local school children to make kindness tags with uplifting messages of hope and support.

Sheryl Webster said:

“This project is all about showing that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

“Each scarf represents a warm hug, and each kindness tag is a reminder that someone cares. To give them a send-off in the beautiful grounds of The Bombed-Out-Church makes it all the more special.”

The scarves will be on display at The Bombed Out Church, providing the public with an opportunity to see the collective effort of so many generous people before the scarves are distributed to those in need.

The event will highlight the power of community and the difference kindness can make in people’s lives.

There will also be live music, photo opportunities, and children’s activities available throughout the day.

Liverpool residents, families, and community members are encouraged to attend, reflect on the importance of kindness, and celebrate this meaningful initiative.

Whether you’ve knitted a scarf, written a kindness tag, or simply want to be part of something positive, this event is for you.

The event will take place at The Bombed Out Church from 10.00am – 4.00pm on Saturday 15 February.
