Over 60,000 passangers expected to use Liverpool John Lennon Airport this Easter
3 days ago

Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) is gearing up for one of its busiest weekends of the year, with more than 60,000 passengers expected to pass through its doors this Easter Bank Holiday.
As the first Bank Holiday of the year kicks off, holidaymakers from across the North West and North Wales are flocking to Liverpool John Lennon Airport to take advantage of its quick and easy travel experience—and a growing list of sunny destinations now available as part of the Summer 2025 schedule.
And while the UK might have enjoyed a few rays recently, it’s the guaranteed sunshine of the Med that’s proving most popular with passengers. Top spots this Easter include Dublin, Alicante, Malaga, Faro, Palma, Belfast, Tenerife, Arrecife, Antalya and Barcelona.
The airport has also made travel even smoother thanks to the rollout of new high-tech security scanners. Passengers can now leave liquids and electronics like laptops and tablets inside their hand luggage—no more scrambling for plastic bags. Just remember: liquids must still be in containers of 100ml or less.

If you’re flying out with easyJet, Jet2 or Ryanair before 8am, there’s more good news: you can check in your bags up to three hours before departure, giving you extra time to relax, grab a coffee, or explore the Departure Lounge’s brand-new bars and eateries, fresh from a winter makeover.
Robin Tudor, Head of PR for Liverpool John Lennon Airport commented:
“Easter is always the first really busy period of the year for the airport and with even more flights and destinations available for passengers from across the North West and North Wales, we look forward to welcoming thousands of passengers though the airport.
