For one night only, LFC supporters are invited to swap their beds for a sleeping bag and Kip on the Kop as part of a powerful fundraising event to support those experiencing homelessness across Merseyside.

Organised by LFC Foundation, the event will return on Saturday 6 September 2025, marking its third year of bringing Reds fans together for a night under the stars at the iconic stadium.

While it’s not quite what the Kop is used to, this unique sleepout has already raised over £120,000 for local charities and projects – and this year’s total is set to go even higher.

Funds raised will go towards two key initiatives: the LFC Foundation’s Global Works programme, which helps young people who have experienced homelessness access sport-based training and mentoring, and Liverpool Homeless FC, an inspiring five-a-side league created for – and played by – people affected by homelessness across Merseyside.

Matt Parish, CEO of LFC Foundation, says:

“Kip on the Kop is our way of bringing people together to raise awareness and funds for an issue that’s affecting so many, especially young people. In Liverpool alone, it’s estimated that over 800 young people are experiencing homelessness right now. That’s something we can’t ignore.”

The impact of previous events is already being felt – not just in the numbers, but in the stories of people who’ve found purpose and support through football.

John Finnigan, CEO of Liverpool Homeless FC, adds:

“We’re about giving a hand up – not a handout. Last year’s funding helped us run a league that brings joy and focus back into people’s lives. For a short time, they’re not defined by their struggles – they’re just playing footie, and that’s powerful.”

Comedian and Reds fan John Bishop, who’s an ambassador for Liverpool Homeless FC, took part last year and is urging more fans to get involved.

“It’s a special experience,” he said. “You’re seeing Anfield in a completely different way. Yes, it’s a memorable night – but it’s also about stepping into someone else’s shoes, even just for a little while. If you love this city and this club, it’s something you can do that makes a real difference.”

The Foundation is clear that Kip on the Kop isn’t meant to replicate the full experience of sleeping rough – but it’s a powerful way to raise awareness, start conversations, and show solidarity with those facing homelessness every single night.

Whether you’re there in person or want to support from afar, there are two ways to get involved:
