The Art Quarter Market is back this Spring at Metquarter
11 hours ago

Following the huge success of the Art Quarter markets in previous years, the markets will make a welcome return to Metquarter this spring, supporting small businesses and local makers from across Liverpool and showcasing the best the city has to offer.
Taking place on Saturday 10th May between 11am – 5pm, Metquarter will welcome an array of wonderful crafters and designers to the centre for this fantastic event. Shoppers will be able to take part in workshops as well as browse an array of gifts, homeware, bakes, and much more from over 30 local artisans, providing the perfect opportunity for a spot of spring shopping.
Organised by three local Liverpool artists, Freida McKitrick, Karen Edwards and Clare Ellis, who will be joining the other stallholders on the day to sell their artwork, the Spring markets will take place on the upper level of Metquarter, accompanied by a choir providing musical entertainment throughout the day.

Clare Ellis, an artist at The Art Quarter, said:
‘Freida, Karen and I are passionate about supporting other local artists and makers. We are grateful to work with Metquarter providing stallholders with a fantastic platform to show their work to the public. We will be there on the day to welcome and support new and established local makers.’
The Art Quarter Spring Market will host stalls from original artisans and crafters including Sunshine Soon, creating jewellery made with real, sustainably sourced butterflies, Good Golly Design, a surface pattern designer and illustrator who creates ‘funky prints for funky people’, Art of Stamps, repurposing used stamps to create bespoke art and Nuvue Glass Design, a stained-glass artist with a range of glass art including suncatchers, perfect for capturing the spring and summer sun.
For any dog lovers looking to update their pooch’s Spring wardrobe, Pawdrobe HQ will be returning to the markets selling unique handmade designer pooch apparel designed and created by Jan Greatbanks for the best dressed dogs with handmade dog accessories using premium fabrics.
With the arrival of warmer weather and festival season, stallholders including The Melly’s and Mystic Sisters will be on hand to offer a range of jewellery and accessories for the perfect addition to your summer wardrobe.

For those feeling inspired by the markets and wanting to try their hand at getting crafty themselves, Metquarter will welcome eco-friendly brand Oleilu who will host a hands-on Jesmonite Tray Making workshop. Ideal for enthusiasts and beginners alike, this intimate workshop is a chance to learn a new skill, get creative, and leave with your very own handmade masterpiece. Located on the upper floor of Metquarter, the workshop will take place from 11am. Tickets cost £30 and can be purchased here. Each ticket comes with a complimentary drink from Dantonio in Metquarter.
Taking place on the lower floor, Metquarter’s own All Over The Shop will host a Crystals and Magic: Charms Edition workshop with Moon Covern, offering a chance to create your own crystal/beaded bracelet or necklace. Crystals on offer will include Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Obsidian, Amazonite, Red Coral and Shell Coral, all with different properties to add a personal touch to your creation. Tickets cost £10 and can be purchased here – one hour slots are available throughout the day.
