Everton Football Club is preparing to bid an emotional farewell to Goodison Park — and fans can expect a historic send-off at the final home game of the season.

The Blues will welcome Southampton on Sunday 18 May (kick-off 12pm BST) for what will be a momentous match, marking the end of 133 unforgettable years at the Grand Old Lady. Everton has announced the first details of a day packed with pride, celebration and nostalgia as the Club and supporters prepare to say goodbye to a ground that’s been home since 1892.

The build-up starts even before kick-off, with The 1878s supporters’ group organising a special coach welcome to greet the players as they arrive — promising a passionate, unforgettable atmosphere around the stadium. Full details of the route and safety information will be shared on Club and 1878s’ channels ahead of the day.

After the final whistle, fans are being encouraged to stay in their seats for a one-hour post-match ceremony titled ‘End of an Era’. Expect appearances from current and former players, guest presenters, live music, and specially produced big-screen content celebrating the iconic ground’s legendary moments.

To help fans enjoy the occasion, food and drink — including alcohol — will be available on the concourses after full-time, and alcohol can be consumed in seats until bars close at 2.45pm.

The Club and Merseyside Police have kindly asked any fans without tickets not to travel to or gather near Goodison Park to ensure a safe and respectful experience for those attending. Everton also reminded supporters that any unauthorised damage or removal of seats or stadium items could result in criminal action and loss of future ticket privileges.

As part of the send-off, Season Ticket Members can purchase their actual seat — presented in a specially designed Goodison Park box — from Friday 9 May.

Fans are also reminded that any public order offences, including pitch invasions, discriminatory behaviour, pyrotechnics or object-throwing, will be met with stadium bans and possible legal consequences.

Everton Football Club has thanked supporters for their loyalty and passion and is urging everyone to come together to give Goodison the send-off it truly deserves.
