On The Waterfront is back in June and is shaping up to be one of key events of the year.

Liverpool’s Pier Head is gearing up for the return of the concert series, which will take place from Thursday, June 19 to Sunday, June 22, 2025 and features a strong lineup including The Wombats, Ibiza Cream Classical, STING and more.

With the picturesque backdrop of Liverpool’s waterfront, framed by the historic Three Graces and the River Mersey, On the Waterfront 2025 promises to be one of the city’s favourite weekends of the year.

We’ve teamed up with On The Waterfront to give away tickets to see the acts performing at the concert series this year, starting with The Wombats on Thursday 19 June – there are five pairs of tickets up for grabs to see them!

On The Waterfront returns to Liverpool’s Pier head from Thursday 19 June – Sunday 22 June 2025.

The Pier Head, right at the heart of Liverpool’s world-famous waterfront!

As one of Liverpool’s biggest musical acts over the last 20 years, The Wombats aka Matthew ‘Murph’ Murphy, Tord Øverland Knudsen and Dan Haggis, met as teenagers whilst studying at Liverpool Institute of Performing Art.

Despite their two-decade long career, their music continues to resonate with both loyal and younger audiences, proving their staying power.

Joining the bill are Pale Waves, Sawyer Hill plus more to be announced.

On The Waterfront

The Wolfe Tones, one of Ireland’s most legendary and renowned bands are performing at On the Waterfront festival, which will be the band farewell to their English fans in what will be their final show in England.

With a career spanning over six decades, The Wolfe Tones’ journey from humble beginnings in Dublin has become the stuff of legend. Childhood friends Brian Warfield, Noel Nagle and Tommy Byrne began performing together in the early 60’s, sharing their love for Irish folk music at local fleadhs and quickly gaining a devoted following. Since then, they have graced the world’s most prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Paris Olympia and now Liverpool’s waterfront.

On The Waterfront

Cream Classical returns to On the Waterfront, taking over Liverpool’s iconic Pier Head for a very special Cream Classical Ibiza show and Groove Armada will bring their electrifying energy with them.

Cream Classical will be bringing the outstanding 50-piece Kaleidoscope Orchestra, performers, and vocalists together for another spinetingling performance featuring some of the biggest tracks from Cream’s longstanding residency on the white isle plus a jam-packed DJ line up from some of the superclub’s biggest players.

Alongside Todd Terry, Chicane, Seb Fontaine, Tall Paul, Danny Rampling, Rob Harnetty, and Sean Hughes, this is set to be an unmissable celebration of Cream’s Ibiza legacy.

STING returns to Liverpool with his highly anticipated STING 3.0 world tour, it’s going to be a night to remember. Joining STING on stage are guitarist and longtime collaborator Dominic Miller, along with drummer Chris Maas, known for his work with Mumford & Sons and Maggie Rogers. Together, they will deliver an electrifying performance filled with classic hits and rare gems from Sting’s extensive back catalogue.

Also featured on the closing night is The Christians and American-born pianist and songwriter Sophie Grey. Liverpool’s own TRAITS, an emerging talent in the local music scene, will also perform.

How do I get there?

Go to www.merseyrail.org to check train times – the nearest station is James Street station which is just a short walk away from Pier Head, for Wirral line services. Stop at Moorfields for Northern line services.

Arriva Bus has got services that take you near to the Pier Head. Liverpool ONE Bus Station is a 5 minute walk from On The Waterfront, and Liverpool Queen Bus Station, a 10-12 minute walk. Go to www.arrivabus.co.uk for services and times.

Where can I park?

There’s no parking around the Pier Head during the event, but there are a number of car parks nearby including Q-Park in Liverpool ONE, NCP in Rumford Street and Fazakerley Street, Corn Exchange Car Park in Moor Street and JustPark, Water Street.

Are there any tickets still left?

Yes, but there won’t be for long!

Can I bring food and drink to the event?

No food, drinks or alcohol can be brought into the event, apart from a 500ml plastic bottle of water which must be sealed. Food and drinks can be purchased from the bars and concessions inside the event.

How do I win tickets?

We at The Guide Liverpool are giving away five pairs of tickets to see The Wombats live at On The Waterfront on 19 June and each week leading up to the event we’ll be giving away more to see the other acts. The best bit? You only have to enter once so the sooner you do, the better chance you have to win!

The winners for the first ticket giveaway to see The Wombats will be contacted by email after 4pm, Friday 30 May.
