Liverpool’s food scene has a tasty new addition – and it’s all about pies. Meet The Lids Catering & Co, a homemade pie and sides venture cooked up by two Liverpool-based chefs with a passion for proper food done right.
Launched earlier this year, The Lids have already made a name for themselves at some of the UK’s biggest events. From feeding racegoers at the Grand National to keeping music fans fuelled at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, their handmade pies are quickly becoming the talk of the street food scene.
Next up, they’re rolling into Southport Food & Drink Festival from 31 May – 2 June, serving up their signature pies, comforting sides, and a warm Scouse welcome.
Even local street food stars The Spud Bros are on board – they dropped by for a bite and gave The Lids top marks. In true Liverpool spirit, they even jumped behind the counter to help serve pies to fans.
“We’re all about proper food made with care and big flavour,” say the founders, both professional chefs with a love for classic comfort dishes done right. “There’s nothing better than a handmade pie with real ingredients, and we’re thrilled to be sharing them with thousands of people this summer.”
