St. Joseph’s Hospice to light up Crosby this September with first ever Illuminate Walk
5 hours ago

This Autumn, St. Joseph’s Hospice is inviting the local community to light up Crosby by taking part in its very first Illuminate Walk — a 5km, family-friendly event taking place on Friday, 26th September.
Starting from Merchant Taylors’ School on Liverpool Road, Crosby, the evening promises fun and entertainment for all ages. Activities kick off at 6:30pm, with participants able to collect their official hospice t-shirt, enjoy pre-walk refreshments, dance along to live DJ music, and even have their faces painted. A lively group warm-up will take place before the walk begins at 8pm. Registration is now open, and St. Joseph’s Hospice is encouraging local families to take part and show their support for this much-loved local charity.
St. Joseph’s Hospice has been caring for local families for more than 50 years as an independent charity. However, like many charities today, it faces growing financial challenges. It costs £11,500 every single day to keep the hospice running. The goal of this year’s Illuminate Walk is to raise enough funds to cover one full day of care at the hospice.
Zoë Furnivall, community and events fundraiser for St. Joseph’s Hospice, said:
“This is going to be a really fun evening and it’s suitable for everyone, and all ages. The route is pushchair and wheelchair friendly too. So, bring along your friends, family, and colleagues, and don’t forget your glowsticks!”
Registration costs just £20 for adults and £10 for children, and includes an event t-shirt, a medal, and a goody bag. Special discounts are available for families registering together.
