Merseyrail and one of its longest-serving team members have been named finalists at the 2025 National Transport Awards, celebrating the people and organisations making a real difference to the UK’s transport networks.
The rail operator is in the running for Rail Operator of the Year at the National Transport Awards, a category that recognises companies going above and beyond to deliver first-class service, customer satisfaction and social value for the communities they serve.
Sally Ralston BEM, Head of Community and Engagement at Merseyrail, is also up for Transport Woman of the Year. Sally has raised more than £1 million since 2014 through Merseyrail’s Charity of the Year programme and is known for her dedication to supporting local communities.
Neil Grabham, Managing Director at Merseyrail, said:
“We’re absolutely delighted to be finalists this year. It’s a huge credit to the commitment and passion of everyone in the Merseyrail team. We’re especially proud of Sally — it’s only right that the amazing work she does for our communities gets the recognition it deserves.”
The National Transport Awards are seen as one of the highest marks of achievement in the industry, judged by an independent panel of experts.
Winners will be revealed at a ceremony in London on 2 October.
