A brand new musical featuring the hits of Steps is heading to Liverpool

The feel-good sounds of one of the UK’s biggest-ever pop groups are set to take over the Liverpool Empire this November, as Here & Now – The Steps Musical arrives in the city for a five-night run.

Running from Tuesday 25 to Saturday 29 November 2025, Here & Now is the brand new stage show that tells a heart-warming, high-energy story set to a soundtrack packed with Steps classics including 5, 6, 7, 8, Better Best Forgotten, and Last Thing On My Mind.

Written by Shaun Kitchener (Hollyoaks) and directed by Rachel Kavanaugh (The Great British Bake Off Musical), the show invites audiences into the aisles of seaside discount store Better Best Bargains. It’s Friday night, the tunes are banging and everything’s looking rosy for Caz and her mates – until secrets come spilling off the shelves and friendships are put to the test.

Expect big laughs, unexpected twists and, of course, plenty of dance routines you’ll know every move to.

The production is co-produced by Steps themselves, alongside ROYO and pop royalty Pete Waterman. After a hit premiere in Birmingham, it’s now heading across the UK with Blake Patrick Anderson (Be More Chill), River Medway (RuPaul’s Drag Race UK), Jacqui Dubois (Ghost), and Rosie Singha (& Juliet) all signed up to bring the story to life.

Whether you grew up choreographing your own routines in the living room or just love a feel-good night out, this one promises a mix of nostalgia, humour and high-camp drama that’ll have you dancing in your seat.
