Cleo Demetriou set to join cast of Sleeping Beauty at Floral Pavilion

New Brighton’s Floral Pavilion announces cast for this year’s Christmas pantomime, Sleeping Beauty.

Adding a sparkling new twist to the magic, they are delighted to announce Olivier Award-winner Cleo Demetriou will be joining this year’s Floral Pavilion pantomime cast as Princess Rose. Cleo made theatre history as one of the original Matildas in Matilda the Musical, becoming the youngest ever recipient of the Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical. Since then, she’s enchanted audiences on stage and screen, including the hit CBBC series So Awkward.

Leading the celebration is the sensational Kelle Bryan – beloved as a founding member of multi-platinum group Eternal, acclaimed for her powerful turn as Martine Deveraux in Hollyoaks, and a vibrant presence on Loose Women. With her powerhouse vocals, warmth and effortless star quality, Kéllé anchors a production crafted to be the must-see festive tradition for families across the North West.

Reflecting on her return to Pantomime, Cleo says:

“I’m so excited to be playing Princess Rose in this year’s panto at the Floral Pavilion! Panto is such a joyful tradition, and I can’t wait to share all the sparkle, fun and festivities with audiences by the seaside this Christmas! “

The Floral Pavilion welcomes back Sean Jones as Lester the Jester. With razor-sharp comic instincts, boundless energy and a rapport with audiences that’s second to none, Sean guarantees laugh-out-loud mischief and festive fun in every scene. Beloved for his extraordinary two-decade run as Mickey in the internationally acclaimed Blood Brothers, his return to New Brighton is a true Christmas gift, promising comedy gold for all the family.

Adding even more glitter and glamour is the incomparable Quinn Patrick, once again stepping into the outrageous shoes of Nanny Nora. A seasoned panto dame whose costumes are as dazzling as a Christmas tree and whose one-liners are sharper than a frosty December morning, Quinn delivers the high-camp hilarity, sparkle and giggles that make pantomime such a beloved tradition. Expect gasps, guffaws and glitter galore whenever Nanny Nora sweeps on stage.

Also joining this spectacular line-up is the sensational Amy Perry in a role audiences will love to hate, the wicked Carabosse. With a vibrant stage career and a talent for commanding the spotlight, Amy brings deliciously dark glamour, powerhouse presence and devilish humour to the role, ensuring boos, hisses and spine-tingling moments aplenty. Her return is set to make this festive fairytale more thrilling than ever.

Expect sumptuous costumes that glint like tinsel, choreography that fizzes like popping crackers, and jaw-dropping effects that sends star-power dust swirling. Laughter rolls in like sleigh bells; families sing along; and a timeless story of love, courage and community unfolds beneath a canopy of winter sparkle. From grandparents to toddlers, this is the show where everyone finds their Christmas glow.

Producer Martin Dodd of UK Productions said:

“Sleeping Beauty at the Floral Pavilion is shaping up to be the biggest and brightest panto on the Wirral. With the incredible Kelle Bryan leading the cast, and now the addition of Olivier Award-winner Cleo Demetriou, this show brings together star power, dazzling talent and all the festive magic that audiences could wish for. From stunning costumes to spectacular staging and laugh-out-loud comedy, this is pantomime at its very best, this is a Christmas treat not to be missed.”

Pauline CampbellVenue Manager at the Floral Pavilion, added:

“We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Cleo to the Floral for this year’s incredible family pantomime Sleeping Beauty. Her energy, charm and talent are second to none, and we know she’ll bring something truly special to this year’s show. It’s a real treat for our audiences to see someone of her calibre live on stage in New Brighton.”

Sleeping Beauty takes to the stage from Saturday 6 December 2025 to Sunday 4 January 2026, throughout which the Floral Pavilion will be swept into a whirl of enchantment, laughter, and festive wonder with what promises to be one of its most spectacular pantomimes to date. Thrilling choreography, a whip-smart script, and lighting effects that shimmer with magic, this is a Christmas show that promises joy in every glittering scene.
