Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium will stage a major international rugby union fixture this summer as Fiji take on England in the Nations Championship on Saturday 11 July 2026.

The match will see Mick Byrne’s Flying Fijians face England at Everton’s waterfront home, with kick-off scheduled for 2.10pm BST. The game will be broadcast live on ITV1 in the UK.

The fixture forms part of Fiji’s first Nations Championship campaign, with the Pacific nation choosing to host its designated home matches in the Northern Hemisphere. The tournament begins in July 2026, with Fiji facing Wales in Cardiff before travelling to Merseyside to play England, followed by a third fixture against Scotland at Murrayfield.

As a designated home match for Fiji, the event will bring a celebration of Fijian culture to Liverpool. Supporters can expect themed fan zones featuring traditional music, food and dance, creating a unique matchday atmosphere inside and around the stadium.

Angus Kinnear, chief executive of Everton Football Club, said the club is proud to welcome Fiji and England for what he described as a landmark international occasion.

He said the new stadium was built to host world-class sport and entertainment, and that staging a fixture of this calibre so soon after opening highlights the ambition for the venue and the confidence organisers have in both the stadium and the city region.

For Fiji Rugby Union, hosting the fixture in England represents a significant commercial opportunity. Revenue generated from the match will be reinvested into grassroots rugby, player welfare, women’s rugby and high-performance programmes in Fiji.

Fiji Rugby Union CEO Koli Sewabu said supporters can expect a vibrant atmosphere, describing it as a home match away from home that will bring the spirit of Fiji to Liverpool. He added that the fixture will help raise the profile of Fijian rugby while connecting with fans across the Northern Hemisphere.

Rugby Football Union CEO Bill Sweeney said taking the England men’s team to the North West for the inaugural year of the Nations Championship is fitting, and that hosting the match in a new stadium will add to the occasion.

The fixture further strengthens Liverpool’s reputation as a destination for major global sport. Since opening in August 2025, Hill Dickinson Stadium has hosted the Rugby League Ashes and is set to welcome Magic Weekend.

It will also stage international football fixtures including Scotland v Ivory Coast as part of World Cup preparations, and has been confirmed as a host venue for UEFA Euro 2028. The stadium is also part of the UK bid process for the 2035 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, said welcoming Fiji and England is brilliant news for the area, highlighting the impact major sporting events have on hotels, restaurants and the wider local economy, as well as showcasing Liverpool on a global stage.

Tickets for Fiji v England at Hill Dickinson Stadium will be available from £25 for adults and £10 for juniors.

Everton season ticket members, premium members and Forever Blue members will have access to a priority sales window before general sale opens.

Premium experiences in Hill Dickinson Stadium’s bars and restaurants will also be available for the fixture via Seat Unique.

Record breaking Magic WKND is heading to Hill Dickinson Stadium this July.
