Rainford Beer Festival’s back for its 10th anniversary this weekend.

Organisers are looking forward to raising a glass to celebrate a decade of beers, music, community, and village vibes.

The weekend kicks off tomorrow – Friday, February 27 – and there’s plenty brewing for a fabulous three days as the St Helens festival prepares for its biggest event yet.

As well as a Cider Bar and Spirits Bar, there’ll be beers from eight breweries including Neptune in Liverpool, 4Ts Brewery in Warrington, and Problem Child Brewery in Parbold.

Lisa Roxby, events manager at Rainford Village Hall said:

“The festival was first held in 2016 and it’s a much-loved community event that’s grown year on year, welcoming thousands through the doors of Rainford Village Hall,”

“Over the past decade, Rainford Beer Festival has showcased more than 200 different beers from over 50 breweries to more than 3,000 people!

“And it’s really special. Being such a small village, this annual event is something that brings the whole community together.

“We’re supported by local businesses who sponsor various aspects of the event from individual barrels to the main bar, the entertainment, and more.

“Last year was a sellout, and our Family Day on the Sunday brought in more people than ever.

“Rainford has a real community spirit, and we’re grateful to everyone who comes along to enjoy what the beer festival has to offer.”

To mark the 10th anniversary, there’ll be special commemorative glasses available throughout the weekend.

The beers are from:

Neptune Brewery – Mosaic, Galene, Sea of Dreams and Low Tide

Farm Yard Brewery, Lancaster – Good Manners Cost Nowt, Splish Splash, Hoof, and Annual Leave

4Ts Brewery – Busman’s Cherry, Raging Bull, Tripwire and Elvis Peachley

Milestone Brewery, Nottinghamshire – Honey Porter

Magpie Brewery, Nottingham – If I Were a Daisy

Problem Child Brewery – Isolation and Shenanigans

RedWillow Brewery, Macclesfield – Headless, Wreckless, and Faithless

Buxton Brewery, Derbyshire – Deepdale

The Cider Bar will stock Lilley’s Cider from Somerset with Lilley’s Tropical Cider, Rum Cider, Rhubarb Cider and Lilley’s Cheeky Pig Cider.

All proceeds go back into putting on the Rainford Beer Festival with the exception of the Spirit Bar which this year will go to the Chairman’s Fund which is going towards the repair and upkeep of the village hall.

Entry is £10 which includes an anniversary glass, brochure and 4 beer tokens (each token gets you half a pint). More tokens can be bought at 3 for £5.

Non-beer drinkers can still attend to drink in the atmosphere and enjoy the music for £2.50.

So what’s on when?

Friday, February 27: 6pm-10pm

A lively opening night sees rock music from ‘local lads’ Luke, Joe, Paul and Johnjo setting the tone for a ‘fantastic weekend’.

For one night only, the Spirit Bar will be offering two exclusive cocktails in honour of the anniversary, along with a selection of gins and whiskeys.

Saturday, February 28: 12 noon-10pm

There’s a full day of beer festival fun with the chance to sample 21 different beers from some incredible breweries.

Four-piece St Helens band Marble Eyes will perform in the evening.

Sunday, March 1: 2pm-6pm

It’s Family Day so as well as the chance to continue sampling beers and enjoying drinks from the Spirit Bar and Cider Bar, there’ll be food and fun for the kids with games and free facepainting.

Lisa says:

“We’d love to welcome everyone along.

“So grab your friends, family and beer buddies, and help us celebrate 10 amazing years.”
